The past month I’ve been all about feeling cozy and have been living in cashmere sweaters, sweatpants and socks. All I want to do is be as comfortable as possible during the quarantine. I have been updating my closet, and one of the ways that I have updated my wardrobe is adding nice socks. I found this chic collection of stylish yet comfortable socks made by a company named Elizabeth Reid.
Native New Yorker Elizabeth Reid graduated with a BA in Fine Arts from NYU. It was at her first job at Christie’s Auction House where she began utilizing her unique ability for storytelling to drive sales.
A move to Los Angeles in 1997 landed her a position in Valentino’s first-ever West Coast Celebrity and Publicity Relations Department, where she elevated the brand’s image by forging connections to A-list celebrities.
In 2001, she returned to New York to join MAC’s Global Communications Department, and expanded the brand’s international fashion show outreach, pioneered designer collaborations worldwide and spearheaded MAC’s AIDS. Fund tie-in with the United Nation’s Development Program. Once again, Reid proved her skillset in revitalizing, and expanding the brand positioning, ultimately recasting the once-alternative makeup brand into a brand that is relevant and on-point.
Her specialty in translating over-arching business goals into targeted objectives, and delivering compelling marketing event and social initiatives designed to build awareness and sales, is derived from her keen insight into a brand’s customer base-innately understanding the target audience’s lifestyle, needs, and desires. It is her perceptive powers that have made her the expert strategist that she is. It was that finely honed intuition and a strong personal need that led Reid to start her own collection. “As a busy fashion marketing executive traveling the globe, I couldn’t find luxe, stylish, comfortable socks at an approachable price point. “Socks are the springboard that says you’re on your way,” she notes.
I design the styles here in NYC and the collection is manufactured in Italy and Portugal. Luxe, sensual yarns, are fashioned into the dress and Sportif sock looks offering style with day-to-night comfort. My collection includes feminine styles to wear with shoes and boots like – the flirty Kiss, Vegan Leather Ruffle, Soft Cashmere and, edgy Stud – and Sportif styles like – the retro-inspired Terry, subtly sparkly Lurex, and Kiss No-Show. Dressing upstarts by putting your best foot forward, my socks are an effortless addition to any outfit.
I am having so much fun wearing these sock and ready for the Fall.
Have you tried Elizabeth Reid’s socks? What is your favorite style?
