I received the product in exchange for reviewing the item, however all opinions are my own.
Sleep time can be a bit of struggle from infancy and toddlerhood on through most of the single digit years. Internal regulation, external stressors, outside noise, apartment living, and so forth add to the mix that leads many to face nightly struggles with their little ones – resulting in everyone in the family becoming less than well rested.
In an effort to ease this issue, white noise machines have been a wonderful way to soothe, calm, and provide background sound to help reduce the external stimuli and internal uneasiness that keeps little ones from falling asleep. White noise machines have been staple in our home since my older son was tiny, and over the past two decades, we’ve seen pretty much every variety available on the market. We’ve also been apartment dwellers for the majority of my children’s lives, and we’ve had to have some creative solutions to aid with sleep through the years.
CloudB, creator of the popular lullawrap swaddling blanket and the lullabug baby sleeping bag, has branched out in to a new line of white noise options for families – options which go far beyond the basic utilitarian white dome or hard animal shaped units that were the norm for years.
The CloudB white noise soothers have the same functionality – providing the white noise sounds – but with a cuddly sensory twist.
Enter the Sleep Sleep Sheep on the Go. This little sheep is so incredibly soft … and I do mean s-o-f-t (think in terms of the cushiest, coziest sherpa blanket you’ve ever felt). The soft, fuzzy texture lends not just to the feel of the sheep, but also to the appearance – the soft tufts reflect the look of a lamb, and the sensory blend of touch and sound is so inviting for sleep.
In addition to its plush texture, another huge perk is its portability. The velcro backed loop can be attached to the side of a crib, car seat, or stroller. For older kiddos, they can simply carry their fluffy soothing buddy with them or sleep with it in their beds. My younger son loves falling asleep with it, as it has the cozy texture, along with the white noise sound being right there next to him. If you’re like me, and are concerned about having noise near little ears, rest at ease knowing that the sound is within the recommended levels for safety.
We put its “on the go” portability to the test during our recent road trip across several states. Sleep Sheep was definitely on the go! My son enjoyed the snuggly comforting softness in the car, and the soothing sounds were definitely welcome both in the hotel and in traffic. Nap time has been a thing of the past for my younger son for awhile now, but during the drive, he at times rested soundly with Sleep Sheep beside him in his car seat.
Sleep Sheep on the Go has 4 white noise options from which to choose, and has an auto-shut after both the 23 and 45 minute cycles. This is a wonderful feature, as it saves on the battery life. Another bonus – the required 2 AA batteries are included (yay!) The sound case slips in to the back of the sheep, the velcro tab is secured, leaving the volume knob, duration tab, and sound buttons easily accessible.
At a price point of $29.99, the CloudB Sleep Sheep on the Go, is an affordable and cuddly option for families who are seeking the benefits of a white noise machine in a more enhanced sensory friendly way.
Plus! Sleep Sheep has a variety of friends! Frankie Fox, Peaceful Panda, and Bubbly Bunny ($34.99 each) will be available soon.
One of the newest additions to the line is the Tranquil Turtle (coming soon, and currently available for $49.99 pre-order through December 10th).
