Creative Roots Paint Your Own Cactus

Finding activities to do with your children while we are all home can be difficult. I was super excited to get this one.

The Paint Your Own Cactus is ideal for our home, since we can put it outside around the yard during the summer.

Each set comes with a paint brush, 6 types of paint, and of course the unpainted Cactus.

You can just hand them over to the kids and let them get creative. It is give them an opportunity to express themselves and keep them busy. Once the kids finish their creations, and it has completely dried, you can find a space outside for these wonderful creations. It will give kids a sense of accomplishment and feel like they contributed to the beautification of their home, yard or wherever you choose to place it.

I think these are perfect gifts for children and would be fun for families to work on together.

When I was growing up and we need to fix things around the house my dad would go to his toolbox and pull out his Craftsman tools. These tools were sold primarily at Sears. However, over the years Sears struggled and Craftsman products were sent overseas.

Is it no wonder that when I took on the DIY Project or renovating my kitchen and closet that I turned to Craftsman tools.

When I moved into my home, the kitchen needs tons of work. The cabinets were old and I had no storage space. All of this needed to be ripped out and I need to add space and an island. Older homes have character, but they were not built for the modern individual that has stuff.

After we decided that everything had to go in the kitchen to get a modern look, we then looked at what tools we needed for this project. I took inventory of what we had and then it was time to go shopping and lucky we got Craftsman tools. Which made me feel closer to my dad.

Circular Saw

A circular saw is one of the most versatile tools in the shop  This one tool can potentially take the place of both a miter saw and a table saw. But, you have to have a steady hand and set up a guide bar to get precision cuts. If you are building a deck, fence, or other outdoor structure, nothing will take the place of this mobile tool.

We used this tool constantly when we were working on the cabinets and the trimming. We needed a tool that would give us those precision cuts.

Drill/Impact Driver Combo:

A drill is the equivalent of your right hand man while working on any project. Go ahead and upgrade to a stronger drill and if you buy one that doubles as an impact driver, you’ll save room in your toolbox. This tool provided a solution for all my drilling and fastening needs. The 2-speed Drill Driver has a 1/2-in. ratcheting chuck to fit a variety of drill bits for different applications. The 340 UWO gives the power needed to complete your heavy-duty tasks. The 1/4-in. Impact Driver has a maximum torque rating of 1,500 in-lbs. for driving large fasteners. The one-handed bit insert makes bit changes quick and easy. Cordless Finish Nail Gun:

Having a cordless nail gun is the way to go when you are working on a small project or installing trip. This battery powered gun does not require a compressor, this is a huge plus for anyone who hates to haul out a big, heavy, loud compressor. The powerful motor offers consistent firing power in diverse weather situations and various materials while the single tool-free depth setting allows you to adjust the nail depth quickly. A contoured over-molded handle and lightweight design helps limit user fatigue during long durations. I got to use this often when working on the insides of the cabinets.

Oscillating Multi-Tool:

The oscillating tool is a mighty little tool you can bring to the location that needs cutting. Notch out your framing lumber; cut detail areas; sand in tight corners; scrape up times, and even cut nails with this tool and metal blade. Built with the user in mind, the variable speed dial offers maximum control across a variety of applications and materials while the integrated LED light improves visibility in dark conditions.

These are just a few of the Craftsman tools that helped me create the kitchen and closets that I love. Now I am so excited to have a beautiful place to cook.
