Camila Cabello Created a Havana Collection for L’Oréal—It’s Amazing

For the first time ever, L’Oréal Paris will launch a spokeswoman product collaboration. It’s entitled Havana, and in case you didn’t already gather from our not-so-subtle headline, ex–Fifth Harmony member and singer of the moment Camila Cabello is the star of the very shimmery show.

Camila Cabello is an American-Cuban singer known for her appearance on the X Factor. She’s the first spokeswoman to ever have an entire collection collaboration with L’Oreal. She worked closely with L’Oreal to create the 14 pieces, limited edition makeup collection right down to the packaging and the fragrance of the lip glosses.

The makeup collection between the drugstore beauty brand and the 21-year-old singer-songwriter is the first spokesmodel collaboration of its kind for L’Oréal but it’s already having huge success–much like Camila’s hit summer anthem.

The collection is influenced by Camila’s fierce determination and her signature passion and embodies her everyday approach to makeup – effortless and glowing – with a playful mix of wearable colors.

Havana transformed us to a tropical destination when blared the tune in our car this summer, and now the makeup collection will do the same from the comfort of our vanity. Inspired by the natural beauty of Havana, Cuba’s capital and Camila’s home city, the 14-piece, limited-edition collection features products that will make you feel like summertime forever.

The Havana Collection contains bronzer, liquid brow, liner, lip dew, and eye shadow in vibrant teal packaging and tropical flowers.

La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Cream

When one thinks of La Prairie, they think of caviar. The luxury Swiss skincare brand capitalized on the intriguing ingredient back in 1987 with its debut caviar product, Skin Caviar Dermo Beads. The brand has since expanded into a whole caviar collection, including a sleep mask, body cream, and even a cushion compact foundation. Now, La Prairie is debuting Caviar Premier, a “remastered” take on the original caviar formula.

The cream is made of caviar extract sourced from Siberian sturgeon that is sustainably farmed. La Prairie’s director of innovation who leads product development, says the company’s past 30 years of research has shown them caviar extract has “firming, lifting, volumizing benefits, and gives back that elasticity to the skin.” He continues, “It really works on the skin’s extracellular matrix, all of that ‘scaffold’ that really gives the firmness to the skin.”

Starting with the principal ingredient, caviar, which contains oleic and linoleic fatty acids which are part of the Omega-6 family, as well as other fatty acids like arachidonic and eicosapentaenoic acids from the Omega-3 family. Very stereotypical of fishy products and very common in the world of beauty. There has been a lot of positive research into the nutritional value of Omega-3, (pass the caviar) but less into their topical application. However, studies do show eicosapentaenoic acid promotes collagen production and protects cells from inflammation and damage.

“Caviar premier is a mix of many, many different molecules from a chemical point of view. It’s not easy to incorporate those ingredients into a formula and to keep, at the same time, the sensors. The mix of active ingredients often contradicts the ingredients needed to make the cream feel indulgent to the touch.

Premium packaging includes a glass jar and silver application spatula.

As for the silver spatula? There’s a practical reason: If you use a spatula, you do not introduce what you have on your fingers—germs, microbes—into the cream. “You could eat with your fingers—why do you use a knife and a fork? It’s a little bit similar, you know? I love the idea of a spatula. It pays a little bit of respect to the cream and also to your skin. The little tool is also meant to prompt you into taking your sweet time with your skincare routine. Everything is so easy to access, so quick, that in fact to get time is becoming luxury.

Caviar Cream Luxe, it definitely performs. Even after just using the product for one night, it revived my tired, travel-ravaged skin. The look and feel of the whole package, plus the silky feeling of the cream and the little silver spatula made my regular routine feel more like a spa treatment. There is no residue after applying the cream, there is a very natural glow, my pores look so tight and skin looks like a smooth canvas. It works perfectly under my makeup as well as during the night. It has not caused any breakouts or congestion on my combination skin, instead, I do feel my skin is so much toned and firm. Alex & Ani’s Chakra Collection Will Bring You All The Positive Energy

We are working hard everyday, and have so much going on that we need some positive spirit and the Alex and Ani’s new Chakra collection might be worth browsing through because this jewelry line is so much more than pretty bangles: Each bracelet is designed with the intention to nourish all the positive energy you have inside of you.

Unless you’re an avid yogi, or are familiar with Sanskrit vocabulary, you might not even know what a chakra is, so let’s start there. Per The Chopra Center’s definition, the Sanskrit chakra can literally be translated to mean “wheel or disk,” and to yogis and those who follow Ayurvedic traditions, “chakra” refers to the “wheels of energy throughout the body.” There are seven chakras in total: root, sacral, solar, heart, throat, third eye, and crown — and each are represented in Alex and Ani’s new collection.

Yoga has expanded from a spiritual practice to a widespread culture when I heard about the Alex and Ani’s new line of chakra-inspired bangles, my interest was immediately piqued. I was looking for something to help strengthen my spirit.

Chakras impact us on a physical, mental, and vibrational level and are the source of our spiritual power. “When life events happen, our chakras can become overactive or under-active, which can make you feel off-center on every level.” So in order to realign all seven chakras and get that positive energy flowing, you can wear the Alex and Ani bangle(s) representing a particular chakra that needs nourishment.

First, there’s the root chakra, and this one is located at the end of your spine and tailbone. “It’s the root of your entire chakra system,” that its embodying love, power, and energy is believed to “help ground you to the earth to feel at home, sturdy, and present.” So this bangle might come in handy during those moments when you simply feel out of your element or comfort zone.

I’d consider the throat, third eye, and crown chakras to be the big powerhouses of the seven. I say this because these chakras play an important role in how you connect with and respond to the universe. The throat chakra, for example, is obviously located in your throat and, can help you communicate your emotions more clearly and truthfully — something I, myself, deal with on a daily basis, as many people do. The third eye chakra, is located between your brows and is all about the brain: your intuition, dreams, and perception. The crown chakra, on the other hand, embodies wisdom and encourages you to explore something bigger than yourself.

Regardless of whether or not you believe in astrology, there’s really no denying your emotions work in mysterious ways, and who couldn’t benefit from a little more balance, right?
