When we beginning of the year rolls around, we all make resolutions to better take care of our health. We promise to exercise more and eat better. Yet, striking that best work-life balance can be very difficult. Between school pick ups and drop offs, working full or part-time, taking care of your house, and feeding your family healthy meals, it’s hard to make time for yourself regularly. Add to your load sick kids, deadlines, get-togethers with friends, and it makes it almost impossible to maintain health and wellness.
Exercise is essential to our health. Many people begin an exercise program to lose weight, but it is also important for our heart health, mental health, mood and so much more. You think that would be motivation enough for everyone, but it is not. Many struggle with getting started and then stopping their workouts because they do not enjoy it anymore. Here are a few tips that I think will help keep you motivated.
Go shopping for athleisure clothes. It’s going to be extra hard to find motivation when you are dressing in an old sports bra and pants that slide down when you run. You should treat your self to new workout gear. Chances are, you’ll want to wear them immediately and starting working out.
The New Balance line is a great way to help motivate you to work out more. The New Balance Neutral Cushioned Sneaker (880v9) is the perfect start. This s the perfect training partner that will guarantee that you do not miss your workout. The workout shoe is a push toward modernized mess upper that delivers a comfortable fit without any fuss. I love it. This sneaker will be the foundation of all of your future workouts. It will inspire and motivate you.
Workout clothes for women are a crucial part of the exercise routine, both for comfort and confidence. A study published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology1 found that clothing influences attitudes and behavior. I love the New Balance Captivate line. The clothes you wear during, and after your exercise routine. You may be tempted to throw on an old concert t-shirt when you head out for a run or to the gym, but the wrong top or other pieces of clothing can leave you chafed and drenched with sweat. The Captivate Keyhole Tank. With breathable mesh piecing on the high front neckline and a deep keyhole on the back, this workout tank looks great coming and going. Moisture-wicking performance tech readies this eye-catching essential for workouts. The halter neckline is very flattering yet the movement is not restricted. The sheer panels in the back are great if you want to show off a pretty sports bra. I also like the longer length. The fit is perfect: it runs true to size and is fitted by not clingy (skims the body but not baggy).
The Captivate Tights are Cut from stretchy poly/spandex knit fabric with a modern matte and shiny cire detail, the women’s Captivate Tight elevates your workout arsenal with a next-level luxe feel. The high-rise, fitted silhouette features moto-inspired raised piping on the thigh for a cool layer of texture on the front of the leg, while high-shine fabric accents help give you front-of-the-class confidence. The contour waistband helps flatter the fit while breathing easy thanks to power mesh on the interior. Drop-in side pockets store keys and cash.
You should also schedule a consistent workout date with a friend who will always show up, ensures that you show up too. Friends can push you to do more than you would on your own and will keep you accountable to keep working out consistently. You may also prefer the alternative getting the family involved. Getting everyone involved in exercising can make it feel less like a chore and more like fun. Having a family run or evening workout is something everyone can do together. With the weather getting warmer, taking a walk and enjoying nature can encourage bonding time and help everyone relax and everyone will begin to associate positive feeling with exercise and see it as a regular and healthy part of life.
Know that just like parenting, some days will be easier than others. Sometimes you might be full of energy and excited to workout, while others days it’s the last thing that you want to do. Take those days in stride, and plan to get right back to it when life is normal again.
The key is figure out why you are doing this, and follow through. You need to find your reasons and cultivate your motivation. The more often you get consistent in your routine, the more likely your motivation will stick around. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.
New Balance is also a sponsor of corporate wellness programs. The company implemented Wellness workdays that enhance New Balance’s existing LifeBalance initiative and deliver an engaging program that focuses on organizational culture, employee well-being, and healthcare costs.
Wellness Workdays will bring an innovative schedule of programming to New Balance employees, including online and team-based activities and one-on-one health coaching. The Wellness Workdays’ proprietary wellness portal will provide advanced technology solutions that are customizable and flexible, allowing employees to sync data from their personal health trackers as well as easily access their wellness program status and progress.
I love a brand that makes health and wellness part of their corporate structure.
