I have always wanted to have my own mortar and pestle in my home and when I got an opportunity to test this one I was really excited. The IMUSA Bamboo Mortar & Pestle is perfect for crushing fresh herbs and spices. Cooking with fresh herbs provides a much richer flavor when compared to dried herbs, try it! you will definitely taste the difference. I also was happy to hear that this was hand selected by Chef Michelle Bernstein.

The history of the mortar and pestle stretches back thousands of years, though its applications have changed in different times. According to The Atlantic, ancient cultures were much more likely to use the tool for grinding grain to make flour than people today. It was also integral in the development of medicine as ancient Egyptians, Romans and medieval apothecaries all prepared tinctures and ointments in mortars.

These days, you have numerous options for grinding and mixing ingredients. However, the mortar and pestle is still a great choice, when you are willing to put the time and care into ensuring the perfect consistency and blend of flavors. You have far greater control and, according to some, a deeper connection to your work.

Using this tool in the kitchen, is really about engaging in the process as it’s happening. Mortars and pestles are a perfect symbol of that because for a home cook who’s in a rush, it’s like the last thing you’d want to use – it takes much longer, but it is the about spending time with the ingredients.

There are a number of ways you can put a mortar and pestle to work in your cooking. It’s ideal for making a pesto, resulting in a stronger balance of flavors and a more pleasant texture. Smash basil leaves along with garlic and salt before adding toasted pine nuts and giving the mixture another thorough pounding.

Worry Eaters are plush friends that has a zipper mouth. Your child can write their worries on a piece of paper and insert it in the pocket and zip it up. This is a great product for children that have a hard time expressing their feelings to their family.

We often forget that children have worries. It is unfortunate that children do not always possess the proper skills to voice their worries out loud to their parents. Sometimes they are embarrassed by them and want to keep them a secret. The worry eaters are more than just a toy. It is a very important coping tool.

Well it is that time of year, when you will be doing all of the holiday cleaning, one of the tasks that is hard for me to do is to clean all the glass in the house. When I first got the product I was not sure, it said not to use paper towels because of the streaking agents, be sure to use a lint free cloth. After reading the directions and all I was wondering if this was just another glass cleaner. I wanted to give it a try so I have the product a true test so I grabbed a cloth and the product and headed to the mirrow.

I started to spray and noticed right away that it did not drip down, so I was able to wipe from top to bottom as I went along. Actually I was able to start at the top of the mirror and work my way down as I went along. Also there was no noxious smell of ammonia that is prevalent with so many window cleaners.

I found that the cleaner, worked on greasy finger prints. The product worked really well on all my glass surfaces.
