@The Moms Mamarazzi Event with Molly Sims & Lyve App

February 4, 2015 By denise 2 Comments

I recently attended an event that The Moms hosted at Artisanal Fromagerie Bistro, to talk to model Molly Sims about her beauty tips and tricks to being a model. We also got to learn more about the movie forty weeks. In addition, we learned about a new app that is going to change the way you think about taking pictures.

While attending I got to talk to some representatives for Lyve. What is Lyve you ask? It is one of the best storage applications. How many times have you said I don’t have enough space on my phone for pictures or have a friend tell you they don’t have enough storage for pics. Just when you want to take that one shot you get the message that it is full, it will drive you crazy. I can sometimes ask someone to take the picture but then you have to wait for them to send it. I have alot of pictures that I take and I just don’t want to delete them because they represent a time for me, that I have captured a moment, and I have conquered my fear of taking pictures. I don’t want to transfer pictures because who knows what will happen then.

Well I found out what I can do. I talked to the Lyve reps who told me about the Lyve Home Box. It is a device that automatically syncs your pictures from your phone to the device. It holds 2 terabytes of storage, can you imagine all the pictures you can take with that. Here is how it works you download the Lyve app it works with Android, Kindle Fire, Macs and Windows PC. Once you install the app on your devices Lyve will pull together all your photos and videos into one single library so you can find, share and view your photos wherever you go.

I wanted to try it so I installed the app to my phone, desktop and Ipad and like magic all my photos and videos were there together.

The Lyve Home has a LCD touchscreen, 2 terabytes of storage and connects via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. It sets up in seconds and will continue to backup new photos and videos as you capture them. Get this you can also have up to three additional users share storage on Lyve Home, with private access to their accounts.

This is truly an app that we all can appreciate and love for the value and the time it will save us. We all fear that moment when we might lose those priceless pictures, now we don’t have to worry about it anymore.

The Lyve Home can be purchased for $299 at a retail store or from the Lyve store. The app is free to download on the Apple Store. Check out the website at
http://www.mylyve.com/
You can also follow them on twitter at https://twitter.com/LyveMinds

Can Do Duck: The Musical!!-#CDDTM

February 4, 2015 By denise Leave a Comment

How many times have you had your child come home frustrated because they could not get the right answer on a question, or could not achieve a goal. We sit and talk to them providing them with encouraging words. We even tell them the story of the Little Engine that could. Yet sometimes it still might not get through to them. This new musical might just help you.

Can Do Duck: The Musical is a positive motivational musical for children and families about believing in yourself and saying “I can”. The musical follows the story of two families, a human one and a duck family, as they learn to try new things and work a a team to learn to love and accept each other. The musical is based on the successful book series The Can Do Duck that has positively influenced and helped people all over the world.

What I found so interesting was that the director, Arielle Sosland, created the musical for her father, a child psychiatrist and author of the “Can Do Duck” book years ago. She remembers fondly how her dad asked her and her five year old sister to draw pictures for the book.

I wondered how well the musical would be able to follow these parallel lines between human relationships and animal one. Yet, I could not help finding myself drawn into the situation with Sarah and the Dad and the Mama Duck and her little ones. The director had a amazing way of making us feel connected to the story.

The director did a great job in using the simple visuals to teach a child that you can do something. When the young duck, Can Do got frustrated; I felt for him, when he got lost, was lonely and afraid; I felt those same emotions. I was pulling for him all the way. The best part was how connected the children where to the characters. I watched their faces as they go sad when Can Do was lost, and how happy they were when the ducks learned to fly. The director managed to capture our hearts and teach us a lesson at the same time, which was quite an accomplishment.

The show opens on February 8, 2015 at the Lynn Redgrave Theater at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street, New York, NY)

Stella & Dot Jewelry Line Empowering Females

January 27, 2015 By denise Leave a Comment

Stella and Dot was co-founded by two Stanford grads, Blythe Harris and Jessica Herrin and are building a great business, all while empowering other women to be entrepreneurs in their own right through their social selling platform that allows their sellers or “stylists” as they call them to run their own trunk shows and e-commerece business. This is a jewelry and accessories that you actually want to wear at prices that range from as low as $19 to $300.

What is the business model all about?
The premise of the model is to provide flexible entrepreneurial opportunities for women. Co-founder Blythe Harris talks about meeting Jessica Herrin and being at a point in her life when she was thinking about having children and looking around to see how other women managed working and spending time with their children. She was really passionate about the idea of creating a flexible, modern opportunity for women.

How does the process work?
They have what are called “stylist” who sign up for $199. With that they get a starter kit of $350 worth of jewelry of their choice and professional business supplies suck as lookbooks, order forms and more. They own the samples and then they go out and host a trunk show. Through their own social network they’ll host a launch party with their own friends and then very quickly they’ll network and start getting other people to host trunk shows. Those people are called “hostesses”. You can participate in the brand in two ways: you can either be a stylist, where you earn 25 to 35 percent commission from what you sell or you can be a hostess, where you share your guest list and open your home to a stylists for a trunk show.

Do you plan on launching other categories?
In the Summer of 2013, bags and scarves were launched and where sold out very quickly. Accessories are very portable and very shareable, which is fits better into this model.

How much do your most successful stylists earn on average?
The potential earnings are what the stylists need it to be. The average stylist wants to be working 5 to 10 hours a week, not 40. They want want to make a little extra each month to help with the bills and support their children.

The key idea is for women to help other women
