A few months ago I was lucky enough to attend a Pet Event and meet with Jason Riccardi of Pura Naturals Pet. I have a BlueTick Bloodhound, Jake Eli and I wanted to find out what products I could use on him. Jason took me through the extensive product line, and I was so excited. Jake Eli would now have his own line of products to take care of his needs. I love my dog, like he is my child, so I want him to have all the things that keep him healthy and well and limit those doctor visits.

When I get a chance to attend a conference such as BlogHer I get very excited. William Poll’s Delightful Dips

A few months ago I was honored to attend an event that featured the gourmet dips and baked potato thins from William Poll. This Upper East Side catering shop is located at 1051 Lexington Avenue, features a lot of great foods.

Mrs. Poll was the force behind the store from 1942 to 2008. Now her sons, James and Stanley run the business. I got chance to sample the Watercress Dip and was delighted with the fresh taste and richness of the flavor. When combined with the baked potato thins, let’s just say I almost ate them all out. Yet what excited me more were the other delicious dips that they had, I had to have my friends try it. These dips are all mom’s Christine’s recipes.

I really wanted to test my friends taste buds. I used two types of bleu cheese dips to see if they could tell the difference. I put them in similar dishes and laid out the crackers. Immediately, they commented how the one bleu cheese dip was so much more richer and had pieces of real bleu cheese and they wanted to know what it was. When I told them they were shocked, they had never heard of the store or the dips. I also had a surprise for them they got to try the prosciutto dip, which had real pieces of prosciutto. I had to stop them from trying to take it home with them.

Shops have come and gone on Lexington Avenue and the economy has taken a toll on the neighborhood, but his little slice of heaven still remains. They also serve other great foods there so if are not in the mood to cook you can check out their menu.
