I got the opportunity to talk to founder and find out the story behind Welden bags. You can tell how much of herself is put into the design of each bag. She loves her job and making these beautiful bags for customers. She talks about it below.

I’ve been in handbags for almost 20 years working for Calvin Klein, Coach, Banana Republic and, Kate Spade. I decided to leave corporate after my first son was born. My husband has always been supportive of my passion and pushed me to go out on my own. So, with a leap of faith… I started the journey 7 years ago.

I created Welden from a different angle, I’m not a designer by trade. My background has been in development, material sourcing, technical understanding and, love for manufacturing. I noticed so many brands were being lost to automation and what I love most, the craft of creating by hand, was fading.

I played with several ideas but kept coming back to the hexagon. It’s understandable, modern, and because it’s a three-part weave, it never can be replicated by a machine.

The name Welden is a combination of “well done” and my youngest son “Alden”

We also wanted to create a meaning behind each of our designs/colors. Everything connected.

I’ve always had a love for travel. To experience the world, different cultures, foods.. you name it. Therefore, many of our designs are inspired by my trips. Each of our bags is named after a travel word. We want the customer to be living life when they are wearing our bags. Where are you “jaunting” off too? Where are you “exploring” next.

The Sonder Tote is one of my favorites. It’s a playoff the hexagon.

Stylish Pieces From Liverpool Los Angeles For Fall

I am a lover of things summer. I guess it is because growing up in New York meant long winters with snow and nice. Living in the South now, summer’s are longer and more humid. I can now appreciate the Fall more. A time for jackets, sweaters and, the perfect pair of jeans. I have found some of the most stylish and comfortable pieces from Liverpool Los Angeles for the Fall, including jeans, pants, and jackets.

There is zero exaggeration when I say I loved the Gia Glider Slim High-Performance Denim. This is a pull-on and 5 pocket hybrid. The denim is so soft, you will believe you have nothing on. It is slim and gives you just the right amount of room with a look of sophistication. They are easy to move around in. I absolutely love them.

 

 

 

 

 

Let me tell you how much I adore these trousers. They are so soft – which I rarely come across with trousers or slacks – and comfortable. There is absolutely zero stiffness. I was taken by how nice the quality is for the price. They are the ideal trousers for the business casual environment. You can easily add a blazer to complement the trousers for a more pulled-together or buttoned-up look.

I love blazers and fell instantly in love with the boxy blazer. It is another one of those pieces that are easy to mix-and-match with your favorite pants or jeans. I love that I can wear it in the Summer and Fall. It is lightweight and perfect for cool evenings.

Needless to say, I’m a huge fan of this brand. I’m so glad I was introduced to it. The pieces are high-quality and easy-on-the-wallet. I don’t want to have to replace a favorite pair of pants every year or two. Based on what I’ve experienced so far, that will not be a problem!
