KidzVuz Holiday Party

Last Sunday I got to spend a wonderful day checking out some great new toys all be and a wide variety of products and services from the upcoming holiday season at Kidzvuz 2015.

They were so many great things this year and here are some of the highlights from the event.

TheSmartTalk.org-Speaking to children about the dangers of technology can be a difficult one. This site helps you make that talk an easier one, it allows you to set up rules and a way to enforce them with your children. It assists you in determining if your child is ready for a smartphone, how you can make sure that they use that phone responsibly and to help you as a parent stay on top of what is going on in the world of technology.

Food for Thought Cards-During this holiday season in the spirit of giving is Food for Thought Cards. With every purchase of a card a sandwich will be donated to the hungry. One sandwich may not seem like a lot, but sometimes that is the only meal a person has in a day. It is important that we remember that they are so much individuals out there who go to bed without food and organizations like this allow us to do our part to help out.

Broadway Zone-This Broadway’s official family club. I have always loved going to shows and was lucky enough to go when I was a child and into my adult years. Bway Zone is a website created by Broadway League to have an on line community to talk about what is happening with Broadway. It is a great way to learn about new shows and see if it fits into your family’s favorites.

Macy’s Heart for Haiti: This program is great because it sells hand crafted Haitian goods in an effort to bring jobs and business to Haiti.

Compose Yourself: This is a cool way to teach kids about making their own music. Arrange the cards in a nice visual pattern, enter the codes on this site and hear your piece played by a full symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios

Jakks Ltd: This wonderful toy group was on hand to give a taste of their new line of dolls called the Star Darlings, which is going to be a hit next year. They also showed us alot of their Star Wars Collection.

Marvel Spectacular Event

A few weeks ago I was invited to attend the Marvel and Hasbro Super Hero Spectacular Event. It was a day of fun and excitement.

The Super Hero Spectacular Event allowed all of the little superheroes to live out their dreams. The event was filled with different stations and activities that allowed kids to enjoy fun with different Marvel characters.

We also got to see some of the current and upcoming Hasbro toys and products.

Marvel’s Avengers Titan Hero Interactive Hulk and Figure Assortment

These Interactive figures feature phrases that simulate conversation with each other, as well as great sound effects. This is setting the stage for some great stories back and forth between these characters.

This also had different masks and gloves for Hulk, Spiderman and Iron Man to try out.

The Iron Man Arc FX gloves feature a light up repulsor in the palm of the glove. Raise your had to activate lights and blasting sound effects.

The Marvel’s Avengers Hulk Gamma Grip Fists. Pretend to smash your way through any obstacle with these foam hands. The all-new Flex Feature lets kids grip and grab to make sure no villain can get anyway from you.

Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man Wise Cracking Electronic Mask. While wearing this mask you can hide your identity and become the web-slinger’s tough hero. At the right time in the battle you can activate the mask’s sounds and phrases with your chin and make the mask say things like “whoa”, spider sense is going crazy and watch out.

Since there’s is more than one way to defeat your enemy and not get physical they were some great board games to help us see what our superheroes can do.

Another great part of this event was getting to screen some of the upcoming Marvel animated series:

Marvel’s Ultimate Spider Man: Web Warriors

This pairs Spidey with the Avengers, but introduces new heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe such as Agent Venom, a new Iron Spider Amadeus Cho, Cloak & Dagger and Ka-Zar.

Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy-

Marvel’s Guardians of Galaxy stars Peter Quill as Star Lord, the brash adventurer who save the universe from it greatest threats, joins forces with a quartet of misfits-Rocket Raccoon, a tree-like humanoid name Groot, the enigmatic, expert fighter Gamora and the warrior Drax the Destroyer. This series will premiere in 2015 on the Marvel Universe programming on Disney XD.

It was a great day of fun.

Power Pressure Cooker XL

Last week I was honored to an attend an event to preview the new Power Pressure Cooker XL. On hand for the demonstration was turkey dude. If you have never seen his commericals they are so funny. Speaking of Thanksgiving and the holidays it is right around the corner. I don’t normally use a pressure cooker but I was intrigued to learn more about it.

The Power Pressure Cooker XL is a countertop slow cooker, pressure cookeer, and pressure canner. It’s programmable with a time delay feature, so that you can make sure that your meals are hot and ready for when your family gets home. A computer controls the various cooking processes, so there is no guess work. You simply push a few buttons, secure the lid and forget it until it’s done.

We got to see a demonstration of how quick it is to eat mac & cheese and butternut squash soup. It took literally 30 minutes for both dishes to be prepared and they were wonderful. If I did not see it myself I would not have believed it.

I couldn’t wait to get mine at home and test it out. As soon as it arrived I took it out of the box and started looking over the recipe book. The lid was easy to remove and put back on. The buttons were easy to use and the LED display was bright and easy to read.

The appliance can serve as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, and canner for both high and low foods. It has a sear function that allows you to sear meats and saute veggies before cooking your dish, and the unit automatically switches to keep warm once the meal is done.

It is a multitasker. I don’t mind leaving the unit on my countertop so that it’s ready to go when I need it. The inner pot is easy to clean, and I can control the unit with only a few button presses. It is not complicated at all.

The unit is a pressure cooker, but has alot of safety features built into the device so don’t have to worry about the pressure cooker blowing its top off.

I am so glad to have this appliance in my home and I am sure that you will love it also. It saves you time worrying about cooking so you can spend it with the family.
