Are you ready for an off-road adventure in a new Jeep vehicle? You don’t have to venture too far off the beaten path for the complete 44 experience.
Jeep is on-site at the New York Auto Show for Camp Jeep demonstrations and four-wheel-drive ride-alongs.
The Jeep® brand is returning to NYC with Camp Jeep®, a unique, interactive, off-road experience for consumers attending the 2019 New York International Auto Show from Friday, April 19 through Sunday, April 28 at the Jacobs K. Javits Center. Camp Jeep is the ultimate off-road driving test. The 20,000-square foot exhibit will give auto show attendees a chance to experience the extreme off-road capabilities of Jeep vehicles without leaving the auto show venue. Camp Jeep will be making its 15th appearance at the NY International Auto Show. Since 2004, over 390,000 NY Auto Show attendees have experienced Camp Jeep and more than 2.35 million guests have experienced Camp Jeep at over 155 events in the United States.
“We have created this unique auto show opportunity to provide our customers with a memorable experience that no other manufacturer can offer,” said Mike Manley, CEO – FCA Global. “The iconic Jeep brand offers an adventurous lifestyle and vehicles that deliver legendary 4×4 capabilities. Attendees will enjoy the Jeep experience first-hand at the auto show this weekend.”
Over 12 trailers of freight and organic landscape materials are used to create the Camp Jeep track. The course will be comprised of obstacles that simulate some of the rigorous testing that Jeep vehicles endure before customers get behind the wheel. This provides consumers with a first-hand look at the capability standards of Jeep vehicles for Ground Clearance, Traction, Stability, Articulation, Breakover, Off-Camber, and Suspension. Camp Jeep is an interactive adventure zone where professional 4×4 drivers allow riders to experience a Jeep vehicle’s legendary on and off-road capability. Professional drivers will drive participants over the course in the 2019 Wrangler Rubicon – the Motor Trend SUV of the Year, the new 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk, Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, and Compass Trailhawk.
Camp Jeep features the “can’t miss” hill climb, where passengers experience traction capabilities while climbing the 18-foot high Jeep Mountain – the icon of the ride. Guests will encounter a rugged Stair Climb where Jeep vehicles demonstrate ground clearance and traction as they climb 5-feet over a staircase. The Extreme Breakover obstacle shows a Jeep maneuvering on a 25-degree uneven plane until one wheel loses contact with the surface as the vehicle continues to climb hitting the apex, giving guests a surge of excitement as the vehicle breaks over the plane. Trail Rated Pass demonstrates extreme three-wheeling over a 50-foot long, 8-foot tall obstacle. As the vehicle ascends and descends 8-feet, passengers will experience the capabilities of a Jeep vehicle as it articulates side to side over uneven ramps set at a 25 percent incline. Hang on tight as the vehicle teeters side-to-side. The track also includes a 30-degree articulation wedge that demonstrates a vehicle’s body articulation and gives attendees an adrenaline rush as they look nearly straight up or straight down while navigating the obstacle. And to top off the Camp Jeep adventure, guests will experience the low crawl and suspension capabilities of a Jeep through the Maneuverability Moguls. Each ride is approximately 5 minutes long. Participating riders will be automatically entered in the FCA US National Giveaway for a chance to win $45,000 toward any eligible FCA US vehicle. Participants 17 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be at least 44 inches tall.
Some of Jeep’s icons will be open for ride-alongs, including the legendary Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Climb in for Camp Jeep Mountain and its 18-foot-tall peak with 35-degree approach and departure angles.
Since the debut of Camp Jeep in 2004, more than 1.5 million people have experienced the interactive off-road experience at over 100 events in the U.S.
Inside the showroom floor, the Dodge Demon Simulator brings visitors the most high-octane drag racing simulation experience. Drivers get to sit in, feel, and drive the highly anticipated, Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. The simulators are loaded with the latest state-of-the-art motion technology, producing incredibly realistic special effects. Drivers drag race head-to-head starting from behind a real “Christmas Tree” staging light set up – just like the pro drag racers do – to see who has the fastest reaction time and quarter-mile time.
