On April 28th, 2014, I was invited to an event hosted by Momtrends to discuss the latest travel trends that would help to make travel easier for moms. This event was held at the Butterfly Studio in New York. This is event was one that I had been looking forward to for weeks.
When I arrived, I was greeted by the professional hairstylists from the Butterfly Studio. The stylist wanted to know what I would like to do with my hair, and I told her I just wanted a little change and a way to do it quick when I did not have time in the morning. She did a quick braid on the side and told me the great uses of dry shampoo. I love what she did and it really made me feel different.
One of the big highlights of the night was the discussion of the 2014 hair trends and we learned that ponytails were back but with a new twist and that accessories such as headscarfs and turbans would give us the total package.
With ponytails we were shown that you can easily make a side ponytail by making a part on the opposite side of your hair and pulling your hair over the top of the ear. It was easy and fun. We also learned that it is okay for it to be a little messy that just gives it a chic look. They are so many ways to put a twist on a old favorite that I may never go back to the simple ponytail.
We also learned the value of a scarf not only does it protect your hair from sun exposure and color from fading, it has helps to keep the frizz of the summer in check. Bright colors are a must for the season giving you a fresh bold look after a long cold winter.
I came away with such great ideas that I can’t wait to try them all.
In order to get us all into the mood for hair change
I am hosting a give away of a stylish turban. Leave a comment and
follow me on twitter instagram, and pinterest, and you will be entered to win one. Doesn’t that sound exciting. I know you will want to try it. Winner will be notified by email, so please make sure it is included.

I’ve never worn a turban before, but there’s always a first time for everything. I follow on Pinterest (yonawrites).

I would be interested in a turban for my long locks. They can get so frizzy during the summer that it’s a disaster!

Very cute! My hair is short but trying to grow it out and this would be handy!

I have never worn a turban. I do sometimes wrap my youngest daughters hair with a scarf, mainly at night, because it does tend to get a little crazy overnight.

Great tips! I wish I could wear pony tails — but I have very fine hair, and my pony tails look ridiculously small! 🙁

How cute – I’ve never seen that before. I’ll have to try this out. Always looking for a way to keep my hair when we’re riding our quads!!
