Picking up years after the events of the first film, Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil reunites stars Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning and adds franchise newcomers Michelle Pfeiffer and Chiwetel Ejiofor. I remembered seeing the first one and actually went back recently and watched it again to get caught up.
Elle Fanning’s Aurora is now Queen of the Moors and destined to marry the handsome Prince Philip (Harris Dickinson). But a looming war between humans and fairies threatens Aurora’s relationship with her beloved godmother, Maleficent.
Pfeiffer plays Aurora’s stepmother, Queen Ingrith. A worthy adversary to the dark fairy Maleficent, she has an evil plan to divide humans and fairies forever.
With a story by Linda Woolverton and a screenplay by Linda Woolverton and Noah Harpster & Micah Fitzerman-Blue, the film is produced by Joe Roth, Angelina Jolie and Duncan Henderson with Matt Smith, Jeff Kirschenbaum, Mike Vieira and Linda Woolverton serving as executive producers.
Disney is expanding its 4DX and ScreenX release slate through the end of 2019 with the following titles:
· “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”; October 18 in 4DX & ScreenX
· “Ford v Ferrari”; November 15 in 4DX
· “Frozen 2”; November 22 in 4DX
· “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”; December 20 in 4DX
