The Tumble Leaf Amazon Event with The Moms

I was recently invited to the launch of Amazon Studios new original kids series, hosted by “The Moms” Denise and Melissa. We were able to view the first of the original series, entitled Tumble Leaf. To add to further excitement of this event it was held at famed Lincoln Center.

Tumble Leaf will make its official debut on May 23, 2014, and your children will love it. We got a look at the first four episodes of the series that features a fox named Fig. Kelli Baker the executive producer and Alice Wilder the educational adviser for Amazon Kids were both on hand to share their stories about what this series means to them. In listening to them you can hear the passion in their voices about this series. Fig the Fox is the main character of the series, and he is blue. He is curious, and intelligent creature who wakes up every morning and loves going on adventures. Every morning he gets up and finds a new object in the Finding Place which is treasure chest. Once he finds the object the fun begins. At the beginning of the adventure the new object is told to all of us and it is highlighted as the word of the day. What Fig does on each adventure is learn about the object and come up with ideas on how to solve problems through play and exploration.

Being in the education industry, I am a huge fan of learning through play. I have seen first hand how children can learn more and will want to learn more when they are doing it just through fun and using hands on tools. They learn more when they don’t know they are learning. I hope that all children will get a chance to experience this series and learn from it. If I could I would make part of the curriculum for our young students.

Tumble Leaf will be followed by another series called “Creative Galaxy” which will debut on June 27, 2014 and a live action series “Annedroids” that will debut on July 25, 2014. If you want to learn more about this series visit the website http://studios.amazon.com/projects/17116
