In today’s world, we have grown more conscious of our effect on the environment, rampant consumer spending and fast fashion have come into focus. In the past few decades, fashion has become one of the world’s top polluters. It’s become clear that buying fast, cheap, trendy clothes made in sweatshops around the world greatly contributes to waste while taking advantage of oppressed communities, creating both an unsustainable environmental cost and a tragic human cost. There’s a better way. Paneros Clothing is a brand that makes sustainability its goal.
Paneros is a 21st-century clothing brand practicing inclusive sustainability that promises to always select smarter, high-quality materials, to always balancing on-trend styles with quality craftsmanship and fit, and to ensure each piece is ethically made. After being a top-selling designer in the wholesale fashion industry for 10 years, I was inspired to create a better alternative: producing slow fashion clothing that I would want to wear, made the way it should be, and designed to be worn not just for one season, but year after year. At Paneros, we believe you shouldn’t have to compromise fashion and style for sustainability and we know that sustainability does not stop with the products and must include all of the people involved. Our 5-part circularity ethos focuses on Smarter Fabrics, Responsible Manufacturing, Quality over Quantity, Less Pollution, and Less Waste. Our debut products in 2019 were handcrafted one-of-a-kind up-cycled vintage Hawaiian shirts and bucket hats. These products are sourced, hand tie-dyed, and hand-beaded in Los Angeles. In June 2020, we launched our limited edition women’s ready to wear line that is ethically manufactured in Indonesia. The women’s line uses deadstock and stock fabrics made from eco-friendly fibers. We are proud to feature exactly who makes the clothes we produce and believe that it helps our customers build a deeper connection with our brand and our products.
I love the women’s ready to wear line. The Beaded Kaia Shirt is the perfect shirt for you to have in your closet and can be worn for years to come. It is the perfect short sleeve shirt with hand beading. This relaxed fit shirt is the perfect addition to your conscious closet. You can wear this with jeans or under a suit and look perfectly pulled together. I love that the line allows you options with their pieces.
I also love this Kaia Shirt and shorts. This shirt is super soft and the buttons are made out shell. The buttons are beautiful. I usually don’t care about buttons, but these ones make me care. They’re just so pretty! I have gotten tons of compliments about the outfit. I have found that this is a great piece while I am working from home and attending zoom meetings.
This Fall you will see more elevated casualwear that is perfect for at home and going out. We will be offering a variety of handknitted sweaters made in Bali which include organic cotton yarns. We are currently developing a clothing recycling program which we are very excited about.
Finally, as global citizens, we are donating 10% of proceeds to the CDC Foundation and ACLU.
