I really fell in love with this Birdseye Duster Coatigan from Banana Republic. This year our overall outfits and styling have shifted to more relaxed and comfortable looks. However, we also are looking to look a little put together and stylish.
I have seen a few coatigans in the market, but this one from Banana Republic caught my eye instantly.
A coatigan is a combination of a coat and a cardigan. You will see some brands will have collars for their cotigan and some will not. The concept of cotigan was built on the idea of making a coat as comfortable as a cardigan and still have a balance of structure and sophistication. I honestly just love it, since I am working from home most of the time. This style of coat feels more feasible and wearable in the South for my video calls and just to stay cozy.
The knit feels extremely soft and I felt like this was a cashmere blend. The material also helps with cleaning and caring for the coatigan which is easy compared to woolen fabrics. I sized up this just like my coats, so I could layer them with heavier knitwear underneath if needed. This fabric is extremely stretchy and comfortable. I wear it at home to stay cozy at my desk. It has seamless pockets on the side which is great to use.
I picked the light blue because the color just popped for me, plus I have a weakness for blue. It comes in other colors so you can decide what fits your personal style. I believe this piece is timeless which means I will be able to wear it after I am not working from home or going outside.
If you like a bit of casual and relaxed style and want to invest in something that fits the budget, then this is a great piece to invest in. Banana Republic is known for its quality so it is no question that this is going to last me for year. I love classic pieces that will last me years rather than buying trendy items that I get rid of in a year.
Do you already own a coatigan? If yes, what are your thoughts?
