During the last year, many individuals are upgrading their bathrooms. From lighting to air fresheners, there are plenty of ways to personalize and enhance your experience. They have so many break-through bathroom technologies with showers and bathtubs, it only makes sense that your toilet should get an upgrade also.
Toilet seat enhancements are not only useful, but many come at an affordable price point. When I was looking for a new toilet seat to upgrade my bathroom, I found exactly what I was looking for at Bemis Toilets. I knew I wanted to add a little color to go with the décor and I have an elongated toilet. I was so happy to find the Weston Toilet Seat.
A couple of tips when choosing a toilet seat:
What size toilet seat you choose is a good question, as toilet seats do not come in a standard size. Different toilets require different seats. Modern toilets especially come in a range of sizes and designs. Never assume your toilet is a standard size. You will need to measure your seat.
To make sure your toilet fits perfectly, you will need to take three measurements:
- Firstly, measure the distance between the fixing holes. Measure from the center of the left bolt hole to the center of the right bolt hole
- Now measure the width of the toilet bowl where it is broadest. If you are measuring the width using the old seat, turn it over to measure the widest point.
- The last measurement you need is the length of the seat. Hold the measuring tape at the front of the toilet bowl and stretch it to the back at an imaginary line joining the two- seat fixing holes
Bemis Manufacturing Company has been manufacturing in the United States since 1901. We are now in our fourth generation of family leadership in the company and have evolved from making wooden wagons and wood composite products to manufacturing toilet seats and custom injection molded components for global customers. They are known for our innovation, constantly pushing boundaries in our manufacturing processes to find creative solutions for our customers.
Bemis Manufacturing Company recently acquired Bio Bidet®, a pioneer in smart toilets, bidet toilet seats, and accessories. This gives our customers options that enhance customers’ hygiene, sustainability, and wellness. They are committed to environmental responsibility, providing our customers with products that are made from, produced, and shipped with the lowest environmental impact in mind.
Bemis’s mission is to provide innovative products for everyday life. Our toilet seats have features that simplify life:
- STA-TITE® Seat Fastening System™ makes the toilet seat easy to install, and the seat will never loosen or need retightening.
- Whisper•Close® is the slow-close feature that lets the ring and covers close slowly to the bowl with just a tap. This eliminates slamming and pinched fingers.
- Easy•Clean® hinges allow the seat to be removed from the bowl for a thorough cleaning, improving hygiene.
- Precision Seat Fit™ provides front-to-back adjustability for the perfect bowl fit
- Universal fit – our toilet seats fit all manufacturers’ bowls, so our customers can buy with confidence.
The products are designed with innovative features that simplify and improve our customers’ lives. Because the seats never loosen, customers can feel confident in having a secure place to sit. The removability feature allows access to hard-to-reach areas, providing for thorough cleaning. And because the slow-close feature lets the seat close slowly to the bowl, it keeps the bathroom a quieter space and protects little fingers.
From a creative perspective, our seats are designed to be a part of your bathroom décor. Some models have sculptured covers that add a distinctive element; our colored toilet seats allow customers to easily update the look and feel of their bathroom, seasonally, for special holidays, or as an easy upgrade. Seats with metal hinges give options for mixing and matching with existing hardware.
Toilet seats are a core product in our lineup, and we manufacture them in plastic and enameled wood versions. Plastic is smooth, long-lasting, and easy to clean. Our enameled wood toilet seats have superior strength and substantial feel, with a high-gloss finish. This durable finish resists wear, chips, and stains, and is easy to clean. These beautiful seats are often described as feeling heavier and “warmer” to the touch.
Each enameled wood toilet seat is made with environmentally friendly processes. Each year, we source 70 million pounds of post-production wood shavings from Wisconsin window and floor manufacturers, along with collecting 1.7 million pounds of dust and particulates, along with three million pounds of scrap from our compression molding facility. Instead of landfilling this, we grind it into wood flour, the main ingredient in our enameled wood toilet seats.
The seats are made and assembled by our team in Sheboygan Falls, WI. During the production process, the rings and covers are coated with environmentally friendly, water-based paint that significantly reduces volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. The result is a versatile toilet seat with superior strength and performance. It looks inviting and feels warm to the touch.
The Weston™ is an enameled wood seat that’s a breeze to install, thanks to the STA-TITE® Seat Fastening System™. Once installed, the seat will never loosen and never need retightening. Weston also has Whisper•Close®, a slow-close feature that lets the ring and cover close slowly and quietly to the bowl, eliminating slamming and pinched fingers. Weston’s stylish chrome hinges complement bath hardware, and the seat is available in Black, Red, Silver, and White.
No matter which material customers choose, we recommend cleaning the seat with either mild hand/dish soap and warm water, then wipe dry with a paper towel. Anti-bacterial wipes can also be used, followed by a wipe dry with a paper towel.
The toilet seat is just one thing that you can incorporate into your remodeling activities.
