My great niece who is 6 and my great nephew who is 4 love doing crafts when they come over to my house.
They have decided that this month they want to focus on Valentine themed stuff. I have been looking for stuff that falls in the younger age group and so we decided to make tissue paper hearts, it is easy and you only need a few supplies.
You will need.
1. Pink and while tissue paper, cut into 1 inch squares
2. White craft glue
3. Scissors (make sure to get the ones kids can use)
4. Piece of card stock or construction paper
5. Pencil with an easer.
1. Cut out a heart shape from the construction paper or the card stock
2. Then put a drop of glue into the center of the heart.
3. Then using the eraser, place the eraser into the center of a white tissue square. Twist the the tissue paper around the eraser and dot it onto the glue. Continue this until the entire middle of the heart is covered with white tissue paper.
4. Repeat the process in step 3 with the pink tissue paper for the border of the heart.
5. You are done.
6. Some kids may want to use their fingers instead of the easer that is okay too.

What a great idea! So cute, if you didn’t mention the ages of the children, I’d have never guess that a 4 and 6 year old would have made it — it shows that this is a good project for kids to do, even they can yield very pretty results with the process. Definitely saving this idea to keep the kids occupied, and for them to make a lovely gift or keepsake for the holidays.

My kids love making these, we turned them into necklaces a couple of years ago for their friends at school.
