In this books, Mal’s an expert at intimidating her enemies, but she’s broken the habit since she has tried to leave her villainous roots behind. When she and her friends Evie, Carlos, and Jay all leave her messages demanding that she returns home. She just can’t believe it. While she is King Ben’s girlfriend now and she’s is nice to her friends, she really doesn’t think anyone would try and push her around.
Here friends have a suspicion that their parents are behind the messages. When Evie looks into her Magic Mirror, what she sees only confirms their fears. Maleficent’s just a tiny lizard after her run in with Mal at Ben’s coronation, but she’s the worse villain in the land for a reason.
Whatever is going on, Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay have to get back to the Isle and get to the bottom of it. The Isle is without its famous leader and can she return home and find out what is going on or will the plot to destroy Auradon succeed.
