UPtv’s newest show, Growing Up McGhee, which follows Ro and Mia McGhee and their adorable sextuplets, premiers its second season on Thursday, January 12th, at 9:30 p.m.
The McGee family returns to television a they try their best to balance a hectic life and all that comes with it. Things were busy enough taking care of six little babies, but now that their little ones have turned 6, There are brand new challenges and unexpected surprises.
In the second season of Growing Up McGhee, the McGhee sextuplets (now six years old) curiosity about life is making every day exciting and challenging for Ro and Mia. As they get older, each child is beginning to express his or her own individuality, and with that comes new interests and experiences that keep the family busy, laughing and sometimes a bit exasperated. Mia is also discovering that she is going to need to let go of the reins as the kids start socializing with friends at school, and not just their siblings. From learning how to ride a bike without training wheels, going to work with Ro, or learning how to play a musical instrument all times six! each day brings a new adventure. For Ro and Mia, the kids maturing also gives them a little more time for themselves to reconnect with who they were before they had kids. The season ends with an extra special event Ro and Mia never had a wedding ceremony when they got married, so its the perfect time to renew their vows with their kids in tow and get that dream wedding they never had.
In my blog I love talking about how to save time, money and energy. Ro & Mia are expert budgeters and I got a chance to ask Mia some questions about life and the show.
I always shop where there is sales and with coupons if possible. With having a large family making money stretch is key.
2. You started a family business shortly before the birth of the sextuplets. How did you come to that decision?
Starting a carpet cleaning business has always been my husbands dream. Having sextuplets we knew we needed 2 things for sure, more money and flexibility in a work schedule. With my husbands extensive background in carpet cleaning and my degree being in business management we knew it would be a success.
Prioritize is key… God, Family and everything else.
The advice I would give is shop when needed. I stay away from stores if I am not in need of anything because I know I love a great deal. Planning is imperative when shopping on a budget. Know what you need to get before going to the store.
I was shocked! I could never ever have imagined having 6 kids individually let alone all at once. Simply because I did not think I could take care of them financially is one thing but mentally and physically. I just thought it would be impossible.
We are faith based people, we believe that God is in complete control. Whatever God has for us we gladly receive. I do not see myself as a celebrity, I am a mom of 6 kids born at the same time. The real celebrity in all of this is GOD.
Season two is fun filled real life loving madness! My family is the joy of my life, I love them to pieces. They are filled with personality and I love it! This season I believe you will see more of individuality and a whole lot of new adventures from repeating kindergarten, family filled fall festivities, and so much more…
