The bar soap has been our shower companion for years; while some still can’t live without it. The one thing that is for sure is that it is always considered a staple. Even while we fill our tubs with foaming body washer, cleansing devices and bath bombs.
Before all of these items came on the market, we had the bar of soap; specially the iconic Dove Beauty Bar. In honor of its anniversary, I wanted to tell you a few things about that the classic bar.
When it launched in 1957, the bar cost a whipping $1. That might sound cheap now, but if you consider that most bar soaps sold for ten cents at the time, it was considered a luxury.
The ads for the soap showed it as an entire experience. On ad featured a woman on the phone and reading that she was head over heels for DOVE.
The idea that this was a cream remains true today, 25% of the Dove Beauty Bar consists of a spread cream a combination of glycerin and other humectants that keep skin hydrated. This might not sound like a big deal now, but when you compare it to soaps back then that left skin with that dreaded stick and pH imbalance it was revolutionary in the market. It also changed the way manufacturers made shower products going forward.
Dove beauty bar is one of the facial soaps I have ever tried. I don’t want to risk at first because I have this notion that bars are for the body and creams are for the face, and not the other way around. So using soap for my face is not so hygienic for me. But when I got to try Dove, I forgot about the hygienic thing already. It made my face smooth after days of usage. It doesn’t melt fast too. It smells so good as well that you would want to use it again and again. It’s affordable pa and available almost anywhere. As for the hygienic concern, what I do instead is wash it before and after I use it on my face. I also have a separate case for it. And I make sure that I’m the only one who use it.
The Dove White Beauty Bar, #1 recommended bar by dermatologists, is the perfect way to get your glow back just in time for the season. After a day spent in the sun, the last thing your skin needs is an ordinary or premium soap bar that is drying and irritating. Thankfully, the Dove White Beauty Bar’s signature ¼ moisturizing cream combined with DEFI technology helps hydrate for soft, smooth skin.
Dove Dermatologist, Dr. Mona Gohara, has 3 simple tips to prep for your skin for fun in the sun, all summer long.
Make sure to choose a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher for everyday use. Reapply every 2 hours with intense sun exposure. Don’t take the tinder approach to sunscreen – in other words don’t grab the first one that smells or looks good. Choose one that fits your lifestyle for a longer lasting relationship.
For flip flop ready feet: soak, sand, smear- soak in warm water mixed with the hydrating cleanser, like the Dove White Beauty Bar, sand down those rough heels with a pumice stone, and smear on your favorite alpha hydroxy moisturizer. (Don’t forget your elbows too!)
Use of an antioxidant serum daily leaves the skin looking vibrant, helps prevent aging and simultaneously protects against UV damage.
