Feminine health is not the easiest topic to talk about with family and friends. I don’t think this was the topic conversation growing up. I blame this on the topic of feminine health being taboo in my family’s culture. Naturally, this leads anyone to think that it is an embarrassing topic to discuss. However, it’s important that all women know that vaginal skin is one of the most sensitive areas on the entire body, and it makes sense to treat this skin a little different. First, let’s discuss a few things.
Did you know that wearing non-breathable underwear (or tight clothing) too often will promote the unwanted buildup of moisture, which can lead to a disruption of the optimal pH balance in the vagina? To clarify, thongs are not to blame (but if the material of your thong isn’t breathable, you might want to look for a cotton variety). I personally don’t like thongs, but I know a lot of my friends do. Wearing tight clothing (or non-breathable underwear) can be a source of irritation.
Unlike most other areas of the body, the armpit and intimate area have a special type of sweat gland that is more likely to be triggered by stress, fear, anxiety or sexual stimulation. Doesn’t it make sense to treat this area a little differently? Now, I’m not recommending using antiperspirant (really, don’t do that!) but Vagisil products are clinically tested for use on vaginal skin. Vagisil pH Balance wash is the ONLY wash with Lactoprebiotic. Let’s break this down what this means, shall we?
The pH range of Vagisil pH balance wash is between 4.5 and 5.5 which is compatible with the pH of the sensitive vaginal skin. The pH of the wash helps your body to support the natural environment for healthy skin bacteria with Lactoprebiotic, which is a food source for the naturally-found friendly bacteria in vaginal skin. The pH wash also includes lactic acid, which occurs naturally in the vaginal skin and is produced by the good bacteria in the vagina (lactobacillus).
Vagisil, has now launched Scentsitive Scents™, its newest line of intimate washes and cleansing wipes specially formulated with skin-friendly scents to provide all-day freshness for sensitive skin. This line introduces White Jasmine and Peach Blossom scents without adding harsh cleansers, dyes, or MIT preservative because Vagisil believes that women should not have to choose between scent and their sensitive skin
Scentsitive Scents™ washes and wipes are dermatologist and gynecologist tested and designed for the delicate skin and pH of the vaginal area. Scentsitive Scents White Jasmine wash and cleansing wipes are formulated with the alluring, floral scent of White Jasmine, enriched with vitamin E and the Peach Blossom wash offers a fruity, fresh scent enriched with chamomile.
The pH Balance wash is clear in color, and slightly thicker than water in consistency (very much like body wash) so it doesn’t slide off in the shower. It does create a good amount of lather, so there’s no awkward umm…is this working? feeling.
