Did you know September is Youth Soccer Month? ! ‘Devious Maids’ star Ana Ortiz teamed up with the Active Family Project to kick off the ‘Play Soccer For a Change’ campaign a few days ago on August 19th. The campaign supports US Youth Soccer to give more families the opportunity to be active through soccer. Ana is a great person to do this since she’s also the celebrity spokesperson for Merck Consumer Care’s Active Family Project.
The goal of the ‘Play Soccer For a Change’ is to encourage family playtime during Youth Soccer Month. Soccer is a great sport to get kids active. The organizers are putting their money where their mouth is, however. For every like, comment or share on the Active Family Project Facebook page, from August 19th through September 30th, they will donate $1 to US Youth Soccer, up to $15,000, to go toward soccer equipment and training in underserved communities, giving more families the opportunity to be active together through soccer.
