A few weeks ago I got to preview the new Disney Art Academy game at the Nintendo New York store. The game will operate on the Nintendo 3DS family of devices hit the store on May 13th.
Whether you are an artist just a beginner, the Disney Art Academy can help you create masterpieces of some of your favorite Disney and Pixar characters, which you can then upload and share via Facebook, Twitter and other social media. By participating in fun lessons and Free Paint, anyone can learn to draw more than 80 Disney and Pixar charters, like Mickey Mouse, Elsa and so much more. Players will learn to draw some of their favorite Disney and Pixar characters through step by step and develop art skills that can be transferred to real life.
You also can give your art some extra flair with the Magic Brush, a new addition to the Art Academy Series. With the Magic Brush, magical additions like stars, clouds and glitter can be added to your masterpieces. You can also share a free demo of the game with friends using local Download Play.
The Nintendo 2DS price drop, which is going down to $79.99 on May 20. I thought this would be something of interest given the great new value this offers parents, especially as summer is approaching and parents look for ways to keep their kids entertained on car trips and plane rides! It actually comes pre-installed with Mario Kart 7 (a really fun racing game kids love) so it’s even more appealing.
