It was ironic that the day Macy’s revealed it Holiday windows, it snowed in New York.
Macy’s Herald Square will signal the start of the holiday season when the flagship store unveils its iconic Christmas windows on Thursday, November 15th. The evening will commence with live enchanted ice sculptures being carved to bring Macy’s own Sunny the Snowpal, the Nutcracker, and many iconic holiday characters to life.
The magic begins with a ceremony full of music and fun, featuring Macy’s Santaland’s Elves and the one-and-only Santa Claus. Just as the sun sets, Santa will lead the crowd in a countdown to the unveiling of Macy’s Herald Square’s legendary window displays.
The theme of this year’s windows is “Believe In The Wonder Of Giving.” The six enchanted windows will share a tale of friendship, family, adventure, and teamwork as Sunny the Snowpal works to save Christmas with the help of her friends. The windows are sure to delight generations of spectators who have grown up with the annual tradition of visiting the windows, as well as those experiencing the enchantment of a New York City Christmas for the first time.
