Did you know that the skin on your lips is some of the most delicate skin on the body? We spend time making sure to take care of our skin, but we sometimes forget that the lips face many daily irritants. Chapstick has created a line of products to meet our lip care needs.
Exfoliate

Chapstick Total Hydration Conditioning Lip Scrub
This is probably one of my favorite beauty picks. Chapstick recently extended their Total Hydration to include this fresh peppermint flavored sugar lip scrub and recently introduced the sugar plum variety that’s formulated with a host of hydrating oils as well as Shea Butter and Vitamin E.
My lips are always chronically dry no matter what the weather is. This little scrub is affordable, effective, and quite fantastic to get my lips smooth, soft, and flake free. I really believe that lip scrubs should be an essential part of your regime if you’re a long-wearing lipstick person. Let’s be real, liquid lipstick needs a smooth, soft, and flake-free surface to adhere too and in order to get that surface, you definitely need to exfoliate. I know I can’t even begin to think about applying a matte liquid lipstick without proper prepping and priming prior to. Typically that involves exfoliating my lips and putting on some sort of lip balm prior. The exfoliate smooths my lips while the balm acts as a primer of sorts for the lipstick to adhere too.
Chapstick loads up this little pot with sugar crystals and a mix of Maracuja and coconut oil as well as shea butter and vitamin E to gently exfoliate your lips. The sugar is chunky but refined enough to easily buff onto your lips without making a mess. The formula has a slight emollient, oiliness which works in your favor to not only exfoliate but also to hydrate lips as you use the scrub. The fresh peppermint flavor is crisp, cooling, and quite delicious when mixed with the sugar.
To use the scrub, simply wet your lips, scoop a small amount onto your finger, and gently buff into your lips for a few minutes! After simply wipe off and follow up with your favorite hydrating lip balm. This formula made my lips smooth, soft, and it removed the flaky build up from around my lip line and on my lips easily so my favorite lipsticks look smooth, even, and beautiful.

The lip balm ended up being quite moisturizing and lightweight. I would buy this again since I have used other lip balms that seem to be less moisturizing for a longer period of time. I do enjoy the scent and have reached for it when I need something quick to have on my lips during the day.
Nourish
Lip oils moisturize the skin on the lips, but they also add a subtle shine. Use a vitamin-enriched oil to nourish the lips and provide hydration. Use it on its own for a natural look, layer it on top of lip balm for a silky feel and shine, or use it over a lipstick or pigmented lip product to add a subtle shine to color.
Chapstick Total Hydration Vitamin Enriched Lip Oil
This is an oil of a medium consistency that leaves my lips hydrated, soft, and supple. It doesn’t really have too much of a scent to it and also no flavor as well. It has a bit of a yellow/gold tint to it but it does not show up on your lips what so ever. Even after an hour, there is still a thin layer of oil on my lips that has them both looking and feeling incredible.
Enhance
Tinted lip balms are an alternative to other lip color products and provide a hint of alluring color while delivering long-lasting moisture. Use them on their own or layer them as a base coat under a similar shade or as a top coat for on-the-go touch-ups.
Chapstick Total Hydration Moisture + Tint
There are three shades — Merlot, Coral Blush, and Rose Petal — and they’re billed as 100% natural. I see lots of oils and butter in the ingredient list, like sunflower oil and jojoba, and I like that they’re all the way up at the top. I wear these to work out, which is nothing compared to the glamorous ladies who go to my exercise class. They wear full-on jewelry with a full face of makeup and their hair done.
The red shade, called Merlot, is by far my favorite. It’s a sheer, warm brick red that builds in color the more you swipe it on. You’ll never quite get red-red lips, but you’ll have a red stain that doesn’t settle into fine lines or bleed out. It’s a great, natural finishing touch and even helps when you’re wearing red lipstick that fades unevenly and you need something to either sheer it out. Or, you can use it as “fade insurance,” swiping it on half-faded red lipstick when you want to make sure it doesn’t disappear the way that leaves you looking like you’re wearing lip liner alone.
Restore
