The Nintendo Switch is a versatile hybrid game console that easily pivots between a big-screen TV and on-the-go portable. The Switch is a fantastic hybrid console that offers plenty of unique and compelling gaming experiences all while providing a solid amount of indie titles that seem perfect for the platform. We love all of the new games that come with the Nintendo Switch and got a chance to try out some new ones.
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
The game is the beloved Donkey Kong franchise’s debut on Nintendo Switch, and comes with a banana-bunch of new features, including a new playable character – Funky Kong!
Arctic invaders have turned Donkey Kong Island into their personal frozen fortress, and it’s up to you to save the day. Play as Donkey Kong in Original Mode and team up with Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Cranky Kong—each with unique abilities—to overcome platforming challenges and frosty foes. Traverse islands packed with platforming perfection and nonstop action as the classic Kong’s in the original game, or mix things up by playing the story as Funky Kong in new Funky Mode!
I like the characters that help out Donkey Kong throughout the game. They each do something different when they help out Donkey Kong. I have played about ten games on the Nintendo Switch and like the other games, the graphics are very bright and colorful which is a fun part of the game. The levels are not too hard. That is mostly when you fight the big bosses. There were parts of the game that reminded me of the LEGO games. We have to gain items in each level like the LEGO pieces on those game we played so we were used to collecting items. I think families will enjoy playing this game. I liked Cranky Kong. It was funny when he used his cane as a pogo stick. I usually don’t play as Donkey Kong when we play Mario Kart, but playing this game will make me want to play the different Donkey Kong character.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Smash Bros. Ultimate is bursting at the seams with content that easily makes it Nintendo’s biggest and most daunting game so far. But, as well as that, it is also undeniably the best that it has ever been.
It’s a long road until the whole roster is available to you, though. There are only eight characters available from the start – a throwback to Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo 64 – with the rest unlocking as you sink time into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. New characters will appear to challenge you once you have conquered Classic Mode, after brawling it out with friends in the Smash modes or tackling the lengthy Adventure mode, World of Light. Whatever you choose to do, there’s always an unlock ready in wait
It still has its complexities and depth for those that want to explore it on a competitive level, but Super Smash Bros. Ultimate remains accessible to all. You rely on your character’s attacks and special attacks to deal damage to your competition, increasing their damage percentage to the point where it becomes easier to launch them into the skies with a single, wholesome whack. To score a point, that enthusiastic, hard-hitting slam needs to send them flying off the screen. The more damage that they’ve taken, the further that they will be sent into orbit.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate delivers the fight of a lifetime and an unfaltering experience that is ‘ultimate’ in every way imaginable. It really is something quite special, a celebration that’s rich in gaming history and, polished to perfection, the next must-have game on Nintendo Switch that you won’t want to miss.
