SpaRitual was a brand that I had heard about but had not yet tried. I recently got an opportunity to speak to the founder, Shel Pink. and learn more about the brand and what they are looking to do.
Founded by Shel Pink, SpaRitual fuses a mind, body, spirit connection with healing spa traditions to help people engage in Slow Beauty®. All SpaRitual products are grounded in the Slow Beauty philosophy and are formulated with specially sourced vegan, certified organic and fair trade ingredients from around the world. SpaRitual products for body, hand and lifestyle promote holistic Slow Beauty self-care practices. Our body products are formulated with certified organic, and fair trade ingredients are free of synthetic dyes and harsh preservatives. Our vegan manicure and pedicure essentials are formulated without DBP, Toluene, Camphor, Formaldehyde, and Formaldehyde Resin. SpaRitual stays on the pulse of sustainability issues to ensure our products processes and packaging are as environmentally responsible as possible. Our Slow Beauty brand philosophy encourages women to approach beauty as a holistic connection to oneself and to the environment. SpaRitual believes that health is wealth and that only by slowing down, can we allow our inner beauty to radiate outwards.
SpaRitual has also recently released their new Earl Grey body care line. The products are high end, high performing, and they smell deliciously of earl grey. Included are the Earl Grey Body Salve, Earl Grey Polish and Early Grey Cream.
SpaRitual Earl Grey collection is like a sip of tea. It’s not usual to experience an oil in a tube. The body cream feels plush and is great on your skin. Being outdoors during the hot summer months can quickly dehydrate your skin. This formula is perfect to add moisture back into your skin.
I also got to try some of the other products from the line and you are going to love them also.
SpaRitual Jasmine Tuberose Body Polish
The Body Polish is formulated with ancient healing ingredients including Coconut Sugar, Ginger Root Extract, Jojoba Oil and Sunflower Oil to help soothe and moisturize. This renewing blend gently exfoliates, and deeply hydrates the skin and uplifts the senses.
SpaRitual Geranium Cedarwood Body Polish
Geranium Cedarwood – Indulge in uplifting Slow Beauty Rituals with Geranium Cedarwood Body Salve. Earthy Cedarwood helps ground you while refreshing Geranium revives skin and uplifts the senses.
SpaRitual Citrus Cardamom Hand Salve
This Hand Salve, formulated with ancient healing ingredients including Marula Oil, Shea Butter, and Honeybush Extract moisturizes, softens dry skin and provides a breathable layer of protection, while the rejuvenating scent elevates the senses.
In its early stages, the brand’s body care packaging resembled its nail polish packaging with a white and plum palette, and it was heavy on information to convey the message of conscious consumerism. Later, SpaRitual moved away from the copious copy to streamline its body care presentation. Today, the brand has returned to sharing extensive information on the packaging, where self-care rituals and ingredients are highlighted on white encasements accented with orange for its citrus cardamom scent, green for its geranium cedarwood scent, pink for its jasmine tuberose scent, and purple for its earl gray scent.
“It’s going back to how we originally started in terms of the cleanliness, white packaging and communicating directly on the packaging about who we are as a brand. It’s very educational,” says Pink. “What’s happening now is that everyone is communicating strongly. People want to be educated about clean ingredients, and it’s important to communicate your different touch points.”
On the secondary packaging, the focus is on the ingredients. On back panels, they are spelled out in a bigger font than is customary for personal care ingredient decks to be clear and legible for consumers accustomed to flipping around packaging to read ingredient lists. Specifics are doled out about the percentages of certified organic and naturally-derived ingredients, and the recyclable content of the packaging.
I also got the opportunity to read, founder’s Pink book, Slow Beauty: Rituals and Recipes to Nourish the Body and Feed the Soul. Slow Beauty works because it’s a lifestyle, not a quick fix. It provides inspiration, support, and tools for working from within toward looking and feeling healthier and more joyful than ever. In this book you’ll find:
• Ideas on beauty with substance from around the world;
• Rituals such as finding and designing your own sanctuary, breathing exercises, meditation, and deepening relationships (and inner strength) through women’s gatherings;
• Recipes for teas, soups, juices, smoothies, scrubs, body oils, and even how to create your own mantra;
• How to incorporate these practices into daily life in the best way for you.
Filled with inspirational images and a message that’s sustainable for a lifetime, Slow Beauty will harness the power within every woman to physically, mentally, and spiritually nourish their bodies from the inside out.
