I don’t know about where you live, but the back-to-school countdown has begun here in Louisiana as we begin on August 12th. Of course, there are lots of positives to back-to-school too and shopping for clothes and supplies is right up there at the top of that list and we want to help make this BTS season as successful, stress-less and easy as possible.
If you know me well, or if you’ve been hanging around me for a while, then you probably know how much I like pens. I have always loved the art of writing, maybe it’s just the feeling of happiness I get when I put pen to paper and create. While I enjoy pens immensely, they also happen to be the number one item I’m always losing and the one thing that is always in high demand in my house, especially during the school year. Given how important it is to have a good, make that great, pen to use on all of that homework.
When it comes to writing supplies my favorite brand is Pilot. Pilot has some really great products available to help your kiddos be successful this school year just in time for Back to School shopping. I use Pilot all the time because I do a lot of writing so my kids are used to having them around the house. So when we shop for school supplies they always ask for Pilot pens.
Pilot Corporation of America was established in the United States in 1972 and is recognized as a premier manufacturer of quality writing instruments. Pilot’s growth has been driven by the consistent development of highly innovative products that deliver unsurpassed quality and exceptional writing experience. Pilot’s diverse line of pens has been created in a culture that has revered the art of writing for over a thousand years. The essence of art, design, and quality of Pilot’s fine writing line can be seen throughout its entire range of product offerings, including Pilot’s everyday pens – G2, Precise, FriXion and many others.
Here is a list of our favorites.
Precise V5 Deco Collection
Precise Deco Collection: Perfect for anyone looking to make a statement with their supplies, Pilot’s Precise Deco Collection pens feature the rich colors, bold shapes and exuberant style of the Art Deco era. With its lavish design and exceptionally smooth, comfortable writing experience the newest members of the Precise V5 family are both an accessory and tool for writing perfection.
I love these pens. They are very fine tip so I can write with precision. I love the deco design as well, they are so pretty. Your kids are going to love rocking the classroom with these stylish pens.
G2 Gel Pens: The ultimate pen for the everyday overachiever, G2 is America’s no. 1 selling and longest writing Go-2 gel pen. With smooth, lasting gel ink, a comfortable grip and retractable tip, 4 point sizes and 14 vibrant colors, the G2 provides students countless opportunities for personalization and precision.
These are my favorite for writing in my planner. You can easily color-code your planner. They are really easy to write with and the gel always comes out strong and looks great on the paper.
FriXion Erasable Marker Pens: Unlike the old-school, erasable pens of the past that broke your paper and left eraser shavings, the FriXion Clicker is the pen of the future, using special thermo-sensitive ink to allow unlimited do-overs in the classroom. You can write smoothly, draw flawlessly, erase cleanly and revise repeatedly without damaging your documents all thanks to the unique thermo-sensitive, erasable ink available in a variety of fun and fresh colors. The extra durable, bold point tip produces rich, vibrant lines. Whether writing, drawing, coloring or organizing, add a touch of creativity and style to your everyday tasks with the new FriXion Colors Erasable Marker Pens.
Acroball Colors: Express yourself brilliantly with the Pilot Acroball Colors advanced ink ballpoint pen. This ben gives you the smooth writing experience of a rollerball or gel ink pens. The Acroball’s ink dries immediately and writes very smooth. The Acroball is comfortable to hold. This pen is great for college students who do a lot of writing and the colors are so vibrant to see in the paper. The biggest advantage is that it is smear-proof.
Pilot Explorer Fountain Pens: The Explorer is one of Pilot’s newest offerings in the world of fountain pens. The metallic plastic on the Explorer is quite nice. The main decoration on the pen is in the form of matte black plastic ridges with shiny spots showing through in between. You can see this on the tail of the pen body and top of the cap. There are also similar ridges on the other end of the cap where it meets the body of the pen. They look pretty cool and add some visual flair. Another interesting design element is the multi-layered cap. There’s a circular window in line with the Pilot logo that adds some depth and visual intrigue to the pen.
The medium nib in my review example is no exception. It lays down a nice line, perhaps a bit on the thinner side for a medium. There’s not much else to say, other than it just plain works. If you’re looking for an entry-level fountain pen that’ll start right up and give you a pleasant writing experience, it’s hard to go wrong with a Pilot.
I love this pen for writing in my journal and those who love to write are going to really enjoy this pen.
Pilot has so many other great pens that I know you’ll love, so make sure you head over to the Pilot Pen website and check out everything they have to offer and make sure you pick up a few different ones for Back to School.
