Rituals is a product that I was recently introduced to a couple of months ago.
The Hammam is one of the oldest cleansing traditions in the world. The steam bath from the East purifies both body and soul. Originating in Turkey, the Hammam, meaning “spreader of warmth, helps to cleanse both sould and body to promote inner and outer and balance. Skin is energized and refreshed through the effects of steam and exfoliation. Inspired by this ancient custom, the renewed Hammam collection brings this wisdom to your home. Enriched with revitalizing Rosemary and Eucalyptus, the nine products cleanse, soften and nourish the skin. Close your eyes and feel the warmth of your own personal wellness ceremony.
A ‘Hammam’ is a steam room similar to a Turkish Bath, where Moroccans visit weekly to cleanse themselves. The Rituals Hammam Collection is designed to offer the similar, luxurious cleansing experience without having to leave the house. It’s described as ‘a purifying ceremony for body and soul’, enriched with both Rosemary and Eucalyptus to cleanse, soften and nourish the skin. The scent is really invigorating, uplifting and spa-like and would be ideal for when you need a mood uplifter or even a cold. Within the Rituals Hammam Collection there is; Hammam Delight Foaming Shower Gel 200ml, Hammam Olive Secret Shower Paste, Touch of Hammam Body Cream, Hammam Hot Scrub.
I have previously tried and loved the Rituals Foaming Shower Gel in the Ayurveda scent, so I couldn’t wait to try the Hammam variation. This Foaming Shower Gel is so amazing, you only need to dispense a coin size of gel, which instantly transforms into an abundance of foam. I like to apply the gel to my shower puff as it helps the gel to foam, and then cleanse my skin thoroughly. I really love the Rituals Foaming Shower Gels and will definitely repurchase this particular scent as I like how we can both use the same shower gel, plus it smells so lovely and wintery.
The Rituals Hammam Olive Shower Paste was the product I was most intrigued about. The Shower Paste has a thick gel like consistency, which you then smooth over your skin. It doesn’t foam up at all, so it’s like a shower gel which doesn’t lather. At first I was a little worried that a non-foaming shower paste would thoroughly cleanse my skin, but it’s very effective. It also claims to leave the skin feeling nourished and hydrated, while removing dead skin cells. I really liked the Shower Paste but for me, I prefer the Foaming Shower Gel as it goes a lot further and then use a separate body scrub. I’d be inclined to save the Shower Paste for the times when I want a more pampering shower experience.
The Touch of Hammam Body Cream which is an heavenly whipped, rich body cream. The Body Cream contains Rice Milk which works to soften and hydrate the skin, while Fresh Fig perfumes the skin. The light, whipped consistency is really lovely and for such a rich lotion, it absorbs into the skin effortlessly. Due to how rich the lotion is, I apply it in the evenings where my skin needs a boost of moisture. If you suffer from dry skin on your body, this would be ideal as it’s thoroughly hydrating. The fresh fig gives the cream such a beautiful, delicate perfume which lingers on the skin for hours. I particularly enjoy applying this after I’ve used the Shower Paste to layer the scent.
The jar of Rituals Hot Scrub which is a very generous size. The scrub is sea salt based, and Rituals claim it has an ultra-purifying and nourishing effect. The scrub is a mint green colour, and has such a warming scent of ginger and eucalyptus. You can see the layer of oils on the sea salt granules. To use the hot scrub, I scoop a small amount at a time, and work the scrub into my skin in circular motions.. which activates the heat – it feels amazing, and spa-like, and leaves the skin tingling after you’ve rinsed. The ginger and eucalyptus really clears your head, so I imagine this would be incredible if you had a cold as it’d totally clear your nose. Once out of the shower, my skin is left so buffed and smooth as if I’d already applied body lotion.
I am impressed with this line of products. I really like everything within the set and think anyone would love to receive it as a gift. I think this set would make a lovely gift. The scent is really wintery, and reminds me of pine which is so apt during Christmas time. Rituals products are all such high quality.
