L.O.L. Surprise Dolls

One of the collectible dolls is new craze L.O.L. Surprise dolls by MGA Entertainment. The L.O.L (stands for Lil Outrageous Littles) Surprise balls are fairly big, which provides lots of fun surprises and play.

Each L.O.L Surprise ball  is wrapped up in a few layers of wrappers. Simply pull the zip down to unwrap each layer.

Each layer hides a surprise, including a secret message sticker, a collectible stickers showing you what each doll might do if you feed or bath her, a cup (bottle), shoes and outfit. You’ll then get to the ball, which contains another 2 wrapped up surprises, including an accessory and the doll herself, as well as a handle that can turn the ball into a carrier, a collector’s sheet and instruction sheet.

The secret message is a bit hard for us to guess, luckily there is an answer printed upside down at the bottom corner! Ours says “Hot Shot”.

The emoji stickers on the collectible sticker sheet are really cute, and we used them to decorate the L.O.L surprise ball. Also used one on the bottle, which I think fits perfectly.

Apart from the 2 stickers, you can use the rest of the surprises to dress up your doll. We received Super B.B. from the Theater Club (L.O.L Surprise dolls series 1 are categorized into 8 groups). And she is a Fancy level doll (there are Popular, Fancy, Rare and Ultra-rare dolls).

Super B.B.’s outfit is quite easy to put on if you do it one part at a time. Super B.B.’s head accidentally popped off! It was off camera but we couldn’t stop laughing! The more we look at the doll the cuter we think she is!

We love it that the ball itself is a playset for the L.O.L surprise doll. You can sit her in one half and serve her a plate of food and sip from her bottle, and you can bath her in the other half too. Although L.O.L surprise dolls are designed to dip inside water (fully submerged into ice water), we didn’t think that the bath can keep the water in.

Each L.O.L surprise doll, when filled with water, can do one of the following: cry, spits or tinkle. We noticed a hole at the bottom of the body, so we thought that she can do both. But it appeared that our Super B.B. is a spitting doll!

We tried feeding Super B.B. water with the bottle, which took a while and the water did come out through the neck. Eventually we got there and suddenly realized that she can spit a lot. We then tried to make her suck up water directly from the sink (off camera. Squeeze her head, dip it into the water and slowly release your squeeze to suck up the water).

The L.O.L Surprise ball act as a play set for the L.O.L Surprise doll, but it also act as a stand to display your doll, and you can even carry your play set around after attaching the handle on the ball, or use it as a purse!

Overall we really like the L.O.L Surprise. We think that it’s perfect as a pocket money treat, and it’s especially great for, dare I say: Christmas stocking filler!

Project Mc2 Smart Pixel Purse

Show off your smarts and your style with the Project Mc2 Smart Pixel Purse. Based on the Netflix series, this pink plastic purse has an LED screen that kids can customize with animated and scrolling pixilated designs. It comes with 10 built-in designs so that it’s ready to play right out of the box. Some of the pre-programmed designs include a diamond, the scrolling words “Smart is Cool!!!”, paint splatters, rainbow stripes, hearts, a blinking eye, and a cat. Just press the button on the front of the purse to change between the different designs.

But if you have a smartphone, then you can use the free Smart Pixel Purse app to program your own designs. Pull the zipper to the right to open up the purse and reveal an expandable phone holder and cable that will plug into your phone’s headphone jack. Once connected, the design you’ve created in the app will show up on the purse’s screen.

The app is pretty easy to use, and kids can either preview their designs on the purse or save their designs to the purse so that they don’t need to connect the purse and their phone if they want to use one of their already created designs again.

This kit aims to satisfy the technology and art aspects of the STEAM acronym, just like the Project Mc2 TV show. While we do wish the purse had the dual function of being a cool science toy and a usable purse, we still think that young kids will enjoy using it as a roleplay toy or as a place to store their phone when they’re out and about. All of the built-in designs look really cool, and there are a lot for kids to choose from, but the ability to design their own pixel pictures will also engage kids in creative play.

Project Mc2 Doll

Project MC2 is the Netflix original series about 4 girls who are as smart as they are cool.

MGA Entertainment also launched their Project MC2 product line at the same time as the series premiered and since have added to the range.

Each character comes complete with their very own experiment for you to make at home. You can build different things. What is great is all experiments use products you can find in your own home for the ultimate interactive science play.

The doll is quite cool with what they wear. I love that these dolls are a nice size and I love the message it provides for tweens.
