Have you ever considered having a standing desk? During the past year, working from home. I have wanted to have one in my home. It’s designed to fit on top of an existing desk or table and transform it into a desk where you can either stand or sit.

I was so excited to find Vari. They just launched a new collection Essential Collection.  The products are made with the same Vari quality that people may get at the office, but at a more reasonable price point for people to buy for a home office upgrade.

I spend much of my day at a keyboard. I frequently suffer from stiff back and neck muscles that hurt. As you can imagine, sitting down all day does not help either.

I use a laptop as my main work computer and have an additional laptop for work. I found that I kept looking down at my laptop screen as opposed to having it at eye height. I tried to prop it up with a pile of books, but it never stayed in the same position.

When I started to try a Varidesk, it allowed me to vary my position between sitting and standing throughout the day. The Varidesk can also improve concentration and help you burn calories.

My first surprise is when I lifted it out of the box. I have a fairly small office with a narrow desk, and I worried that the Varidesk would be too big and heavy. My fears were not warranted, it fits surprisingly well onto my desk. The whole thing seemed very sturdy and balanced so I gave it a go. It moves up and down with the use of handles at either side, and the action is smooth enough not to move anything. At first, it felt strange standing up to type, but I got used to it and found it was now at the right level.

I have been using the Varidesk for a month, and my back, neck, and shoulders are definitely less sore at the end of the day. I have been going back and forth from standing and sitting mode.

I love the design of the product. The curved surfaces sort of cuddle around you, so you have a useful work surface at your right and left-hand side for a mouse and legal pad.

I actually like the Varidesk much more than I was expecting. It is available in black and white so it fits into any décor. It has a nice, clean design. I believe this is a great investment for the New Year if you do a lot of work on a laptop.
