It is so hard to believe that Fall is just around the corner; especially since it was over 98 degrees in Louisiana this weekend. With the calendar saying one thing and mother nature saying another it can be hard to decide what to wear to work. I get this question a lot from new individuals entering the workforce.

Today, I am teaming up with White House Black Market to show you some of my favorite pieces to wear to the office.

Petite Piped Blouse

I love this shirt, as it is not a traditional white shirt, but unique with the black piping. The piping is around the neckline, shoulders, and cuffs. It is fully lined and is made of a matte jersey material. This is the perfect transition shirt. You can wear it with a pair of black trousers or under a suit. I have gotten numerous compliments about this shirt. Every woman should have a staple white shirt in their wardrobe and this ecru colored one is perfect. One of my mentees just purchased it and she says she loves it and is going to get in black also.

Petite Pleat-Detail Shell

This is another staple piece. Clever draping  transforms the classic shell into a wardrobe necessity. This top pretty much defines “transition piece” in my opinion. The color is perfect for fall, and the sleeveless style keeps you cool until fall weather actually arrives. The pleats in the front make it so flattering on anyone. I love also wearing this out at night with a pair of cropped white jeans. It is a piece that can also take you from day to night.

Floral Ruffle Blouse

This piece really excited me when I saw it  and wanted all my readers to get this piece if you get anything this Fall.  A new perspective on florals  deconstructed blooms is scattered throughout this style, finished with texture-rich ruffles.  I’ve also heard that ruffles will be trending this season, so it’s right on trend there. This is a beautiful top that can be dressed up or down. There is a clasp in the front to bring the blouse together, however, I’ve found that leaving it open works as well. I will be wearing this more often when the Fall season rolls around and the air gets chilly. I’ve worn this with black pants, white pants, and jeans. Received many compliments on this blouse from coworkers.

Now that we have the perfect blouses, let’s find the coordinates to go with it.

We leaned in on the plaid trend, thanks to this blazer with a smart seam technique that visibly slims the midsection. I got this jacket and matching pants. The colors are perfect for early Fall. The fabric is light, but at the same time, there is a good stretch to it. These pieces are very versatile and stylish looking. It is very professional yet not overwhelming. Enjoy fashion and always wear at least 1 statement piece, clash styles, use a classy look for a start base and then add items according to your personality and job.

Grid-Pattern Jacket

This jacket puts a new spin on the traditional black suit. The most common and easiest way to dress for the office and nail the wear to work situation, this work outfit is perfect for all jobs. It has matching pants but you could also wear it with black or white trousers. Always wear a statement piece, or add a fun item to your look.

In the past, I had heard so many of my friends mention White House Black Market clothing.  I was quite impressed by how chic it really made me feel. The fabric has just the right weight and it was easy to wear. The luxury of the line was presented in the form of white. Bright white, and white made with hints of pink. Both pieces were the  brilliant touch of refinement all while being stylishly uncomplicated.

A few of my “must have highlights”, their shorts. They hit a “just-right” length and come in a variety of patterns that you can wear for weekend casual or dress up with a chic pair of wedges.  Staying with that silhouette that just makes the compliments flow, there was a black top with an intricate design of cut-outs and all I could think is the restraint I would need to display in order to not wear a gorgeous top like that every day. Anything with a print was jumping out at me as well, and I came to find out that is because all WHBM‘s textiles are custom made-in house and are a category they pay an extensive amount of attention to. It shows.

Between the bevy of beautiful little white dresses, these wonderful tanks and my short. The views of New York City wrapped in rays of light as a backdrop, this collection couldn’t have looked more covetable.
