The big game is right around the corner, and I am starting to plan what we are going to do this year. Having friends over, and preparing snacks for the game is the most important part. This year I decided to make a Snack Stadium for the Big Game to act as my center piece. It is not easy to get all the pieces in place but I had fun and I am hoping that my guests will love it.
While I was shopping at Walmart, I found some great snacks to use SNICKERS®, Skittles®, Pepsi™, TOSTITOS® chips and salsa. I wanted to make sure to incorporate all these bright colors into the stadium as it would give it a big pop.
Time to Build
I wanted my stadium to be the shape of an actual stadium so I used some pics of stadiums that I had seen as a guide. I am going to use cardboard for constructing the stadium as well as masking tape and glue. I also cut out some pictures of football art to put around and inside the stadium.
I used the cardboard to make the outside ring of the stadium. I used masking tape to adhere the strips end to end. The cardboard was flat to begin with so I needed to tuck in the sides and glue it together then I used masking tape to reinforce the sides so that it would hold its shape. I made sure to place it on an elevated surface so it was easier to work with.
I then put a piece of cardboard at the back to box that would act as my scoreboard later.
Once the structure was complete, I covered it completely with tin foil. This makes the structure waterproof and reusable. In order to keep the tin foil in place I used glue to stick it down.
I then started to add stands for the food and it was easy. I simply used aluminum pans. I also used an aluminum pan in the center of the stadium that I would put my salsa in.
As I put up my stands I began to fill them with various food and drink items. I had one of the stands filled with Pepsi™, and other the side filled one with SNICKERS®.
I set up the other side with TOSTITOS® chips and other food items. I added Skittles® in little cups at the end zones. I love the colors the Skittles® bring to the stadium.
I wanted to add some fun parts to the Snack Stadium, so I found some flags to place around the stadium. I also found a scoreboard and glued that the piece of cardboard that I previously had put up. I also found some cool little footballs to add around the stadium.
Lastly, I put the TOSTITOS® salsa in the center pan and used pretzels to make some up rights.
I love how my Snack Stadium came out and can not wait for my friends to see it. I made more than more so that we could put them around the house. It was a fun and creative project. I enjoy football so much that this project just made it more fun to enjoy the big game.
I would love to hear how you are going to be celebrating the Big Game this year. Will you attempt to make a Snack Stadium? If so please leave a comment below on how you are celebrating and some of your creative ideas for a great game day party. Visit here for more recipes and snack stadium ideas.
