It is exciting to be able to move into a new home. It is all fun and games until you have the packing and moving to do. With all the excitement is it overwhelming to walk into a new home and realize that you have a lot to before you can actually call this place a home. With the help with family, friends and some P&G products and a few cleaning tips, I got started and ready to make this home ready for us to live in. I was lucky to have a Walmart close to home which made shopping trips easier and helped me saved money along the way.
While I knew cleaning was going to be a big thing, I already knew that soap, water and a few main things like Bounty® Paper Towels, a Swiffer® Mop and Unstopables™ Air Refreshers were a good place to start. I first had to go from top to bottom checking out what should be done first.
Cleaning Tips
It is not easy to figure out where to start but I found that starting with from top to bottom works really well. You should start by dusting the tops of window sills and if you have ceiling fans in the house. Use Bounty® Paper Towels with a little soap and water for this task and you will quickly see that the dust and dirt just hits the floors. While you are doing that if any curtains came with the home those would need to be washed also. These are dusty and need to get rid of any smell they may have. I give them a wash in Tide® PODS® Laundry Detergent. With 90% cleaning ingredients and the ability to work in any type of machine and at any temperature. Those curtains looked like brand new.
Once you have finished with the window sills and washing the curtains while you have the curtains washing you can wash the windows. You can use a simple mixture of one part vinegar and one water with your Bounty® Paper Towels.
Once the high areas are completed it is time to tackle the things that are at your waist area. These include things like your counters and cabinets. Again you can use your Bounty® Paper Towels, to get rid of the dirt and get it all looking it’s bests.
While you are in the bathroom be ure to stock your cabinets with Charmin® Ultra Strong.
It is four times stronger than the leading bargain brand and it is perfect for wiping off the back of the toilets and the toilet seats. This is an important comfort that you can add quickly to your home. While you are working your way around the home, I am sure that you will find a lot of dirt and dust on the floor that is okay you will be working on that soon.
Now you can start to work on the floors, just grab your Swiffer WetJet Mop and start spraying. This all in one mopping system is specially designed to trap and lock all that dirt so it doesn’t get pushed around.
It is going to come in handy in the first days of moving in, as the floors are going to see a lot of traction with boxes coming in and out and dirt is going to make its way inside.
Now that the house is looking in order it is time to make it smell the same way with Unstopables™ Air Refresher. Use an instant burst of airy undertones and crisp vibrant layers to send odors away and keep your home smelling amazing for up to six hours. With the ability to infuse the air with a subtle smell that is sure to make you feel welcome, it’s perfect for using around the home.
Now that your home looks cleaner, you can decorate and make your new home your own. Add those finishing touches to make sure you enjoy your new place, but also remember that you need to stock up all of your cleaning items from Walmart so that you can always have a clean home. These are my tips because it helped me feel organized and better about the move. I just needed to have a plan of attack and be ready to execute it. Cleaning is never easy but with these supplies you will know that you are doing the best job that you can. Now sit back and enjoy your new place.
