As part of their 60-day Kickstarter Campaign launching on January 18, 2016, Panda-a-Panda and JazWings are happy to announce their support of the Friends of the National Zoo, the non-profit that supports the Smithsonian’s National Zoo. JazWings will make a donation to the Friends of the National Zoo to support the Zoo’s panda conservation efforts.
Siuhak, the creator of the 10-year-old Panda-a-Panda comic strip, has been involved in panda conservation in the past. He is excited that this campaign will not only help his own dream of creating stop motion animation based on his beloved comic strip characters, but also help protect endangered species.
In addition to donating, there will also be a special reward tier for fans who wish to receive an exclusive Panda-a-Panda conservation figure and a special Adopt-a-Panda certificate from the Friends of the National Zoo.
For more than 40 years, the Smithsonian’s National Zoo has been at the forefront of giant panda conservation by maintaining a healthy captive population and working with Chinese partners to protect the panda’s natural habitat. With support from dozens of animal care staff, scientists, researchers, international collaborators and conservationists, the Smithsonian National Zoo has made great strides in saving these species from extinction by studying giant panda behavior, health, habitat and reproduction.
Panda-a-Panda and JazWings are excited about being able to help the Friends of the National Zoo raise conservation awareness and spread love for pandas around the world.
