Last week, I got the attend the preview event of the new line from Target Pillowfort. Pillowfort hit the stores this month and will replace the another longtime in-house brand, Circo as part of a top-to-bottom shake up of the retailer’s kids’ business as Target looks to reclaim its style edge.
This line is moving away from pink, fair princesses that are just for girls and boys just like rockets and sports. Well guess what, girls like rockets and basketball and boys like ponies. Don’t worry Pillowfort still has some pink and blue just not as much. The prints and patterns are open ended with trees, arrows, astronauts and bicycles. The motifs that traditionally have had been more gender specific bent, such as basketball, hearts and alligators are more up for grabs with more neutral colors, such as white, black and yellow.
This allows kids to create their ideal bedrooms. This line allows everyone to find what they want, from sheets to bedding. They have also introduced some creative wall art that expresses each children’s own creativity. I loved the animal heads that they can put over their beds and camping style.
If you are planning on redoing your children’s bedroom this Spring, check out the line.
