Kate Spade Madison Avenue Event

A couple of weeks ago on a beautiful Saturday we got to attend an event with fellow mom and fashion bloggers at the Kate Spade New York Madison Avenue Flagship store to enjoy some dress up time and enjoy some cupcakes and champagne.

The Kate Spade Flagship store is the first of its kind in New York. It is four story building with everything from stationery, shoes, beauty products, pajamas and eyewear.

During the event, one of the in house stylists provided us with a tour of the Flagship townhouse. The Flagship store is the home of all that Kate Spade items. Then there is floor that is dedicated to ready to wear items. A floor for bridal suite for showcasing all of its wonderful items. The Kate Spade Madison Avenue store also has a VIP Salon area. This room has private dressing room, with a beautiful pink satin sofa. It is here in the VIP salon that we had our day of fun.

Celebrating Three Kings Day

While many countries are were celebrating Christmas, most Latin individuals will have celebrated Three Kings Day. While everyone stops celebrating on December 25th, the parties continue almost non-stop all the way until January 6th when Three Kings Day draws the activities to a close.

Three Kings Day, also known as El Dia De los Reyes is a long held Latin American tradition. It celebrates the gospel account relating to the visit of the three magi or in this case the three kings visiting the baby Jesus. According to Latin culture January 6th saw three different men visiting Jesus-Melchor, Gaspar, and Balthazar. The first is believed to have arrived by horse, the second by camel and the third by elephant and they brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. This is probably one of the most exciting days of the year for kids, since it is on this day that they receive their presents. According, to popular culture, kids place a box filled with straw, grass or hay under their beds. This is a gesture of good will and supposed to be used to feed the king’s horses while they rest as their owners make deliveries if a child is good, they wake up the next morning to find candies, sweets or toys in their boxes. If they were bad they will receive a lump of dirt or charcoal.

Young adults, enjoy the night with parties and fun. Their celebrations start right after Christmas and continue until Three Kings Day in early January. In fact, Dia de los Reyes party is the next big event on the calendar after Christmas, lots of planning goes into these celebrations.

Some of the most popular traditional foods are Three Kings Cake, Guava and Toasted Almond Tamales and Mango Ice Tea and others.

Celebrating with Vive Mejor-#ViveMejor @Vivemejor-Pond’s Luminous Clean Line Review

I was given the opportunity to attend the launch of the new Vivemejor.com. This site offers Latinas the chance to make their lives simple by helping them with easy recipes, up to date beauty tips, and lifestyle solutions.

I was lucky enough to spend a fabulous evening with Vive Mejor. The guests got to sample Hors D’oeuvres from Coconut Shrimp minis with Hellmann’s tropical sauce, to Grilled Mexican Chicken Satay using Knorr, and Mozzarella stuffed meatballs with Ragu dipping sauce, the night would not be complete without dessert which was Chocolate cinnamon cupcakes with peanut butter cinnamon frosting with Country Crock.

I got the chance to meet celebrity hairstylist Mario Anton who told me what I could do to give my hair some volume and how to style it for the summer. Mario Anton works with celebrities all over the world and I was trilled to talk to him.

Ana Quincoces, who was voted Miami’s Hottest Chef, cookbook author, mom and lawyer cooked Empanadas de Chorizo y Papa. Check out the recipes at

Thanks to Vive Mejor team I was given the opportunity to test out the new Pond’s Luminous Line.

I have always had issues with my skin looking fresh, clean and soft. I was hoping that this new Pond’s line would give me some of those benefits. It did not disappoint. In the morning, I used the cream cleanser and the exfoliating cleanser. Doing this on a regular basis helped to create a good complexion. It gently massaged my skin and made it feel soft and smooth without any irritation. I love the Clean Cream Cleanser in that if was easy to rinse off my face. These products are hypoallergenic, and dermatologist tested.

After washing my face, I followed up with the Pond’s Moisture Day Lotion with SPF 15. It is light, pleasant smelling, dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, and suitable for all types of skin. Which is great news for me since my skin can be sensitive. After a long day, once I get home I want to get the grime from the day off of me, so I used the Pond’s Clean Wet Cleansing Towelettes. These felt great on my face, and made it easy for me to wipe away the dirt.

I learned that great skin can be achieved, and all I had to do was look for it.
